Am I only the one who likes the intro montage

With the song "rock you like a hurricane" playing with the montage it's considerable better.

Certainly not! I really love the montage. The song has grown on me over time too. Not my favorite, but it's fine.

I liked the montage too - I'm pretty sure it's not as hated as the theme song. I especially liked how they tweaked it for the mirror universe episodes.

Everyone loves a good montage:

Show a lot of things happening at once
Remind everyone of what's going on
(What's going on?)
And with every shot you show a little improvement
To show it all would take to long

That's called a montage
(Montage)
Oh we want montage
(Montage)

And anything that we want to go
From just a beginner to a pro
You need a montage
(Montage)
Even rocky had a montage
(Montage)

Montage
Montage

Anything that we want to go
From just a beginner to a pro
You need a montage
(Montage)
Ooh it takes a montage
(Montage)

Always fade out in a montage
If you fade out, it seem like more time
Has passed in a montage
Montage

Wife and I both loved the opening credits and song from first seeing Broken Bow. The visuals were in perfect harmony with the spirit of the song and we both like that kind of music. We liked it enough that I played it at the closing of our 25th anniversary party in 2002.

I think some people feel the need to say they don't like anything a little bit schmaltzy, as if admitting to being sentimental is a weakness. I like the song too, always did. The montage is fine as well.

When the "Star Trek" name was re-instated, and the tempo of the song sped up, I liked it better.
The only thing missing, I felt, was a the very last moment.
As NX-01 is warping away, and the song ends, I feel Alexander Courage's TOS fanfare (the "ping, ping, ping, ping") should have echoed in as the scene fades to black.
As a nod for what's to come. Looking forward.

I love the intro, song and all.

If you ignore the actual origin of the song, and think of it only in context of the show, the lyrics fit.

Actually, I wish they hadn't changed was adding "Star Trek" to the title in season 3. I liked it better with just the name "Enterprise". I don't think adding the franchise name caused anyone to realize this was a Star Trek series.

The song (either versions of it) didn't bother me.

I suppose I'm a stickler for honoring the franchise with the "Star Trek: " appellation. Even "Discovery" is adding it, so far.
(Of course by that "stickler" logic, you should have All In The Family: Maude, All in The Family: The Jeffersons, All in The Family: Archie Bunker's Place.)

I like the video montage with the history of exploration of Space flight the song is okay .

Montage is great even though the song is cheesy. The production team wanted the song to be U2's "Beautiful Day" but of course they couldn't afford it. I still have not played the opening titles to that song but intend to one day. Diane Warren gave them a deal on the song they did eventually used.

I think that the montage, music and lyrics were perfect for "Enterprise" considering what the point of the series was supposed to be. And I like how they did a time-lapse of the assembly of the ISS. Considering that it was mostly assembled during the run of the series.
I've been rewatching the series and just started season 2. And I really like the subtle change they made to the music. It sounds perfect. They sped up the tempo slightly and there's more guitar. And they changed a short rift of either an electric guitar or organ that sounded like something from the 60s.

Play the Montage with the sound off and substitute the themes from either Voyager or DS-9 instead. Personally I like it better with a more symphonic score.
