Alternate/reboot 1701-C, TOS/TNG merger

So a few months back I posted this design, an attempt to merge TOS and TNG into a single, new Trek universe. A reboot, in a way. However, although I like the design a lot, and updated it recently, it always looked maybe too close to the refit Enterprise from TMP, modernised. Not a lot of TNG in there, and then mostly from 1701-E rather than -D.

And so I tried again, this time going more towards the TNG look while maintaining a healthy dose of TOS proportions. I used the Ambassador class NCC-1701-C as a starting point, here. In fact I lifted the saucer from my own version of that class.

Looks like a recon of the Ambassador, or at least an intermediary between the Excelsior and the Ambassador....

Reminds me of the Embassador too. But you fixed evrything that was wrong. The struts and nacelles always felt so clunky. Also the impulse engines are finally where they belong. I like it.

It has some of the TOS friendly-ness to it.

Try some taller refit like nacelle supports, sweep it back. I'd like to see that as well.
