I really want a Short Trek or something about the Enterprise in "Parallels" where the Borg have destroyed the Federation. It's like making AGT, Visitor, or Endgame a whole season - I like that
I like the last idea as if it is a time + reality jump it would explain why there is no crew as they would phase out like GeorgiouAssuming it's "a" USS Discovery in the nebula...
This "sort of" ties in with an idea I had, What if Discovery arrived in the future and found it was still wiped out, then traveled back in time (arriving after they left for the future) to fix it, producing the timeline we see. And the Discover in Calipso is that "1st" Discovery. It doesn't really tie in with how star trek usually does time changes, but in City on the Edge of Forever the landing party wasn't impacted by McCoy's change to the timeline... so maybe being in the worm-hole did something similar for Discovery.
Or maybe it's a Discovery from another reality that jumped across (spore drive) to keep the sphere data out of the hands of Control from their universe... basically a dimensional incursion that produced the timeline we see.
So.. Again stargate.. This time atlantis..
With the first expedition getting killed and Elizabeth going back in time and fixing it so the city doesn't totally run out of power so the expedition can raise the city. And now I have 2 Elizabeth.
It doesn't really work. Not sure if anyone has brought this up, but I wonder if Discovery's departure from her time has caused the future they arrived in to be an altered timeline ? A past example would be the events that occurred when the Enterprise C travelled into the future.
It's the "prime future" of the Star Trek universe... until it isn't (like every other aspect of Star Trek canon/continuity).Not sure if anyone has brought this up, but I wonder if Discovery's departure from her time has caused the future they arrived in to be an altered timeline ? I do have a lot of time for that theory, ST8 leads to ENT leads to DIS. The events of ENT Regeneration could not occur if not for the events of ST8. I.E. - new timeline. It's the "prime future" of the Star Trek universe... until it isn't (like every other aspect of Star Trek canon/continuity).
I mean if you're going to bring up that old argument, it's possible everything after the film Star Trek First Contact was in fact a alternate timeline; and all the shows and episodes in Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space Nine; and Enterprise, and all subsequent TNG Star Trek filmstook place in that alternate timeline (which again was different from everything we saw in TOS and TNG from 1966-1994.)![]()
Oof, yeah, you could say that. Whatever helps people sleep at night I guess...It's the "prime future" of the Star Trek universe... until it isn't (like every other aspect of Star Trek canon/continuity).

Not sure of the episode title, but Discovery (2nd season) covered the possiblity that Michael was to die as a young child before the RED ANGEL interveined. I personally took this to be what occurred in the prime timeline. And why Spock never spoke of her.I operate under the assumption that this is one of several altered timelines and there is another timeline where Spock never had a foster sister, Burnham’s parents were never killed and there was no time traveling Gabrielle or Control, etc. The Temporal Cold War probably altered things beyond the recognition of the original Enterprise crew.
"Altered future stories work best when we know what "the future" is supposed to be. Otherwise, how do we know it's altered?
