I believe it's from the Star Trek magazine.
If I'm not mistaken, it's the best shot we got from him/her/whatever yet. Quite interesting.

Oh, that's very nicely done. Really can't wait to see this flick on video.

Actress/filmmaker, in fact; I don't think she has any stunts credits. I'm also not sure that the character's gender has ever been specified.I liked the random aliens who popped up in the movie, this guy being my favourite.
Alnschloss is a female, and played by a female actress/stuntwoman.

Mmmm, I thought it was in the character's bio on the official website. But no.I'm also not sure that the character's gender has ever been specified.
I'm not sure how I feel about having all these other aliens serving in Starfleet now. I always thought there was something cool about Spock being the only one in those early years (or at least that's the impression I got anyway).
Now he's just one alien among dozens probably.
I think he was the first Vulcan at the Academy, but he was never the only alien.
Is that according to TOS or other sources? Because I don't remember any references to other alien officers made during the series. Although I could be wrong...
And yeah I knew about the Intrepid, but I figured Starfleet just loaned Vulcan one of their ships or something, and those Vulcans weren't necessarily Starfleet officers (it doesn't exactly seem like normal practice for Starfleet to staff an entire ship with just one group of aliens).
In any case, the impression I got was that the writers really wanted to emphasize Spock as a unique presence and a bit of an outcast on the ship. Having a bunch of other aliens running around kind of dilutes that I think.
there are a couple of things that indicate that intrepid was indeed part of starfleet.
she is being repaired and mentioned in the same with the other starships in courtmartial.
she is getting her orders from a starbase.
Here's something...kind of scary...

http://trekmovie.com/2009/01/08/pro...man-prosthetic-makeup-designer-for-star-trek/TM: Can you tell us whether or not you based the Kelvin security officer on Arex from the animated Star Trek series? What else can you tell us about Alnschloss K’Bentayr?
BB: The character of Alnschloss was not inspired nor based on Arex. I hope no one is too disappointed. It was based on an original design by the film’s amazing creature designer and a brilliant artist, Neville Page. JJ liked the design Neville had and asked if I could realize it as a character. It was the first alien to work on first day of shooting and it wowed everybody. It was further brought to life by Kasia Kowalczyk, a terrific actress and director out of New York.

He/she/it looks great. I liked the random aliens we saw. Interesting that his/her uniform is different to everyone else's.

Two images of different aliens that look quite distinct from each other? Yes, that is scary.
Or do you think that aliens "all look alike"?![]()

An homage to Spock having a higher collar in some of TOS and again in TMP?
I am so looking forward to screen caps from the DVD.
Talking of aliens on the Kelvin...I didn't like the nurse with the CG eyes. She looked like a bad photoshop of a manga character.
Those two aliens do like quite alike. Not identical, but quite similar.
Yeah I've always wondered about that. Did Nimoy just have a really long neck or something?
I realize he had to have his own special costume to accomodate the ears and makeup, but you'd think it wouldn't be that hard to match it with the others. That costume in WNMHGB was the biggest monstrosity of all.

Forgetting the fact that Arex has three arms, three legs and no visible ears!
