He's also not blinded by it.

It sounds like his position isn't really changing all that much. But he's pretty consistently given us great Star Wars so I'm find with him getting promoted, if he is. Honestly, at this point, his hit to miss ratio is a hell of a lot better than Lucas's.

Holy crap, that CG face work on this fan film is unreal. (There doesn't appear to be any information about its methods or source available yet.) Not a lot of onscreen talking, but most of the shots of Luke are completely convincing. I assume most of the AI contributions are facial deepfakes of an actual actor, and that a fair amount of filming was done, because I didn't see any of the weird morphing one sees all over entirely/primarily AI-generated imagery? Because if there was little to no filming done... damn. Not only did the face look incredible, but his hair was rock solid (in a good way). Wow.

I like Filoni but I can't help but think it would have been smarter to bring in someone new from the outside. If your trying to send a idea that you want to change I am not sure it makes sense to hire people already working their. It sends a message that your happy with the status quo.

And why shouldn't they be? Star Wars's only financial failures have been Solo and The Acolyte, neither of which Filoni had any involvement with. So on what grounds can you claim Filoni is unqualified for this job?

Speaking for myself, I'm very happy with the status quo. Filoni has  earned this position and there couldn't be any better choice for the job. Imagine how much better the sequel trilogy would have been if Filoni had this kind of influence back then? The last thing Lucasfilm should ever do is listen to the brainless, idiotic vitriol of the "Fire Kennedy" morons.

TLJ and RoS were very weak for Star Wars feature films.

Andor received much higher critical praise than Acolyte.
Acolyte wasn't a bad show, but it could have benefited from tighter writing and editing.
