I just thought it was a nice bit of Photoshopping/artwork, that's all. I apologize with all humility for any confusion or lack of funny that may occur.
For what purpose did Wil Wheaton tweet it? Maybe the context would make it more understandable.
Speaking of boywnders... anyone know what's up with this Ensign Crusher lookalike rainbow shirt?
^yes, I see the resemblance. but less gay-looking. I mean gray. Also, if I didn't know any better, I'd think that was Jonathan Togo.
That is awesome! I love the design and the colors, too!
I saw that shirt and wanted it!
It's not a joke, so much as it is clever. If it doesn't seem clever to you though, then there's no point in explaining it.
Who played the role of the boywonder in CSI:M all the time -even before it went all music-video.
That is an awesome tour poster.
I know, right?
obtw, what's the point of their thread again? o_O
An awesome tour poster is exactly what it is.
It's announcing a November 20th (2009) DEVO show at Irving Plaza--a popular venue dating from the days of the late-1970s New York punk/new wave scene, and the artwork is presumably a takeoff on an advertisement depicting a box of Cēpacol lozenges similar to the package pictured here.
The artist, whose name is given in the poster itself, is known for subverting commercial or otherwise iconic images to promote other interests. (See a few other examples here.) I'm sure the residence/residents word-play is also entirely intentional.
I don't get it.
^ I don't either.
It just looks like a pair of knees to me.
I see a couple of fingers where one is stretched and the closest one isn't.
This oldie is different though:
yeah, I see two fingers...I need help with the dirty thing I'm supposed to see.
the back end of a woman. or man i suppose.
And Thar fails again...
