All 11 Time Lords unite in Dr Who special!

How does an ever-so-slightly more respectable news source repeating the story, with the original tabloid as a stated source, corroborate it?

does that not make the "ever-so-slightly more respectable " less respectable by posting it?

say what you like about some of the shit you see on Digital Spy, but when it comes to Doctor Who or the soaps, if they do post a story that is false, they do an article telling people that is the case.

We haven't discussed the really improbably bit of this...Eccleston coming back? It seems unlikely.

I am really eager to see what Smith's Doctor's like, but the timing of this would be all wrong.

More importantly, McGann coming back?

I think, if this does actually go through, there will simply be a little montage of all the Doctors, or a hologram of each of them, something like that. The children in need episodes are aways about 15 minutes long, so that's a minute for each Doctor, and 5 for Tennant? Plus nobody knows anything about Matt Smith's Doctor, so it would ruin the surprise. And if Smith's Doctor is there, why wouldn't the Doctors 12th incarnation also be there?

I think this is insulting rubbish.

It's beneath rubbish...and absolutely unbelievable.

It's just a little thing for charity, if it generates some cash then that's good.

What would be beneath rubbish is trying to use such a horribly self indulgent idea for a genuine episode of Doctor Who. As it is, it's just Children in Need, so who cares.

Possibly the only way this could work is if we have 14 minutes of the 10 Doctors. right at the end have Tennant about to be zapped by a Cyberman who then, inexplicably, crashes to the ground. 10 looks around but sees no one. When his back is turned Smith leans partially out of the shadows, smiles, then dissapears again. No dialogue, very little in the way of interaction, but he is there.

always assuming this isn't the BS it's 99% likely to be of course

If they could make a version of that comic that was linked here month or 2 ago, I'd be a happy man.

As for this idea, meh.

Sorry but I wasn't aware that they were simply rehashing what was put on the Mirror site. I suppose until or unless we read it on the BBC website its to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I could see him possibly coming back for a short charity show. Most celebrities love doing charity things, I don't know if Eccleston does though.

Eccleston has done a ton of charity work. I could see him coming back to Doctor Who for that.

 if true!!

All this talk made me go to Youtube to finally watch "Dimensions in Time," the 15 minute Children in Need show celebrating the show's 30th anniversary. It's fun seeing all of the then living Doctors back, although it could have been better. For one thing, why not have all of the Doctors interacting with each other? That's what we really want. Troughton's bickering with Pertwee was always the best part of "The Three Doctors" & "The Five Doctors." Secondly, Tom Baker's brief appearance narrating the beginning segment is an even more disappointing non-participation than the unaired "Shada" footage from "The Five Doctors." Thirdly, it would have been better if the story made any sense at all. Because the companions kept changing and the picture quality was so bad and so many of the actresses have aged since they were last on the show and because I'm not instantly familiar with all of them, I had a had time keeping track of exactly which companions we were dealing with. I recognized Susan, Victoria, the Brigadier, Sarah Jane, Romana II, Peri, Mel, Ace, and of course, K-9. Who am I missing?

^She's with the fifth Doctor and Peri around six minutes in- hard to recognize physically, but her voice is still distinctive, particularly when she speaks at about 6:33.

I assume Peri was to take the place of Janet Fielding who seems to be allergic to Doctor Who, except for the random DVD commentary...
