All 11 Time Lords unite in Dr Who special!

I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is, why can't they make it a regular episode or a special?!

Because it'd be rubbish, like all the other times?

Neither RTD or Moffat are fans of multi-Doctor stories, considering it a gimmick that does't sustain itself over the course of a full-length episode.

I was going to say "Time Crash" but that is not a full length episode.

As bogus as the story might be, for the first few seconds I believed it. And that made me realize how much I miss Cristopher Eccleston. To see him once more as the Doctor, even for a minute, would be heaven.

I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is, why can't they make it a regular episode or a special?! It irritates me if they only do multi-Doctor stories in these 15 minute things. Make it a true event episode or special. I was really excited when I saw the thread title, much less so when I read the details. :(

^Both of these guys right here? These two? Smart. They speak only Truth. :techman:

You and I must be watching two different shows.

Yes, because the simple joy of everyone getting "their" Doctor back isn't enough, right? The multi-Doctor tradition is special inherently because of itself. It's like the Brigadier meeting every incarnation, or post-regeneration trauma. It's part of the the show's identity. Not to mention, The Doctor meeting himself is, ultimately, the definition of a time travel story... :techman:

Eleven time lords? I thought there were only three; Tennant as the 2nd doctor, Eccleston as the first and somebody as the Master.

:D

On another note, the new doctor should be wonderfully eccentric, judging by his hairstyle; it is rather strange, don't you think? And I love what's-his-name, Moffet?. His episodes (the one with the statues, the one with 'where's my mummy?' etc) are among the very, very best.

It's not me you have to persuade. It's the guy making the show for the next four or five years...

And then there's the fact that the segment of the audience that the series is largely aimed at weren't even born when the original series finished so "their" Doctor only extends back as far as Eccles.

Does being smart bring Christopher Eccleston back? :(

If it does, we should start reading a lot of books right now!

And I'm talking about getting Eccles back, along with all the ones before him, too. Everybody gets their cake.......except the fans who started with Hartnell-Pertwee, of course...

The three dead Dr Who actors – William Hartnell, Jon Pertwee and Patrick Troughton – will be included by using images from their original shows, stretching from 1966 to 1974.

LOL. No.

Baker: "The Daleks are here. We need a plan"
Hartnell: "If you could touch the alien sand and hear the cries of strange birds, and watch them wheel in another sky, would that satisfy you?"
Baker: "What? There's something in the sand"
Hartnell: "I made some cocoa and got engaged."

Tennant: "Quick! We need to get to the TARDIS"
Troughton: "People spend all their time making nice things and then other people come along and break them."
Tennant: "Yeah, so let's get to the TARDIS so we can protect those nice things"
Troughton: "That, I think, Jamie, depends upon what you think I am thinking!"
Tennant: "STOP CALLING ME JAMIE!"

You're so darn negative. Lighten up! It's a fun thing!

You need better examples, given one of those wasn't introduced until 1970 (and then only sparingly until 1981) and the other never even happened.

*sigh* Must I be specific? If you know the detail is wrong, then you must realize I'm short-handing. Why so anal?

Because your short-handing undermines your point. Post-regeneration trauma is not part of the show's identity, nor is the Brigadier (as much as it pains me to admit that), nor are multi-Doctor episodes. This is clearly evidenced by how well the show has gotten along without all three for large portions of its history.

another Dimensions in Time? Ugh.

More floating heads?
the recent Tonights the Night, makes it really easy to do this, just invite all of the living Doctors to the set, and have RTDs in a Cyberman outfit run onto the set, at this point all the actors pretend to be there Doctors.

Then at the end Matt Smith comes in saying something like "sorry guys this one got away from me" and the older Doctors muttering "I dont know what the fans are complaining about the new kids going to do just fine"
