What was that? Ugh.. Started off good, ( mostly) but the middle bogged down so hard that it stopped, and the last couple episodes were Meh at best. All in all.. not really good. Would have made a better Blade Runner series.

Now it's over I can finally rate it and I gave it a 9, and yes maybe episode 5 and the terrifying Eye Midge are doing a bit of heavy lifting there, but only a bit.

Nibs lives! Thank God!

I too figure Atom was the synth 'dad' Kavalier created. The eye thing going after Joe was terrifying but it finding its way into Arthur I didn't see (sorry) coming.

So all our main cast are still alive come the finale shot then? Convenient ;)

Hard to know quite where the show goes from here but I'm definitely along for the ride.

I thought this was a great first season. I rewatched it with my wife, and she said she liked the original film because it was "mysterious about the Alien". I said everyone's seen the original Alien for over 40 years. Despite the fact it's called "Alien: Earth", it's clearly about the Lost Boys and their story.

Your point about it being a better Blade Runner series -- it *IS* a Blade Runner series! It's about the synths and their journey to understand their humanity (or lack thereof). Besides, we can figure the Tyrell Corporation was a precursor to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation (or one of the other ones -- or even all of them).

I wonder if the move to London means we'll be moving away from the island then? Or maybe it's jut preproduction they're doing in London and then when filming starts they'll move back to Thailand? I'd hate to see them move all of it to London, filming in Thailand gave it unique look and feel, and I'd hate to see it lose that.

Kinda surprised it was renewed. I think season 2 will be it's last unless it seriously gets back to good storytelling.
If Disney cuts the budget on the sequels, it will last 5 seasons, otherwise they will end it in 2 or 3 seasons.

I (finally) finished Alien: Earth. I have mixed thoughts.

Episodes 1-3 were good.
Episode 4 dragged on and made me almost quit the series. I was this close.
Episode 5 was the best. It could've been the first episode and slotted before Episodes 1-3.
Episodes 6-8 had a groove.
And then Episode 8 ended in a weird spot that had me wondering, "Where are they going to go with this?"

The main problem is that this precedes the original Alien movies. On the one hand, it explains why Weyland-Yutani will want Xenomorphs so badly. On the other hand, these cyborg children who basically have their own pet Xenomorphs can't still be in the picture later on. So, something has to happen to them. The cliffhanger gives us the sense that the other shoe has dropped, and now they're going to be come corrupted. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely" as the saying goes.

Alien: Earth isn't my favorite new science-fiction series of 2025. That's Pluribus. But I'm still interested enough that I'll watch the second season.

Clearly it's trying to connect with the continuity and isn't it stated that it takes place before Alien by those making it? Suggests that they are placing it within that timeline.
If I remember correctly, the creators said it was [un]connected to Prometheus/Covenant. But still connected to original Alien at the least.
That was my understanding as well. That and they recreated the aesthetic of the first movie so well.

No, they said they're ignoring the prequels.

The show clearly wants to be connected to the original Alien movies, but like Predator: Badlands it indicates that FTL travel hasn't been figured out yet.

Sorry, I wanted to say NOT connected and missed a word. Yikes. Yes, the producers were very clear about it not being connected with the prequels. That was my bad.
