I haven’t seen a single episode since I was a toddler, I might need to find the DVD.I saw it as a child. ALF was the star because it was so different.
I checked it out again a few years ago as an adult and buying all four seasons on DVD (oh, the German release DVDs that were complete - almost no syndication cuts. Keep that in mind as the American releases have tons of footage chopped out in some cases.) I rewatched them over last winter as a binge marathon, it is unlikely my opinion will have changed much since then but in my next marathon that may or may not occur. But the human actors made the humor work. Max Wright needed to be the straight man to ALF because that's how the humor worked. Don't get me wrong, I still liked ALF as concept and execution and especially as character, sure, but the Tanners and Ochmoneks are by no means anything approaching "props". Or at least the actors, who saw enough of something special to make the show. "Project ALF" failed because ALF didn't work as his own entity and there were plenty of props in that movie.
What is next??
Reboot of Friends??![]()
I'm hoping this reboot will be something lighthearted. Maybe one of the Tanner's starts complaining about chest pain, only to have Alf claw his way out of his chest and then then eat the rest of the family. Yeah, something like that.

Can he have a top hat and cane and sing Hello, My Ragtime Gal?
I suppose that was the reason why we almost never got to see Alf below the waist.I was never a fan, but wasn't a good deal of the cuteness of the show the fact that Alf was a puppet? Not a weird uncanny valley CGI monster.
What makes you think Paul Fusco wouldn't be involved? He's still alive and has performed the character as recently as 2 years ago.I used to watch ALF, but I haven't seen it almost 30 years. It won't be the same without the original voice actor, but it would be nice if they found someone who sounded like him.

The article doesn't mention Fusco either way, but as long as he's around I just can't see anyone else performing ALF.
I like "ALF", but a continuation in this day and age where everybody is racist and everything is racist except the hypocritical racists pointing the things out, how does the original Alf actor get this job after a video like this?

Every article I've read said that he would be involved, along with the other co-creator. I seem to recall that Fusco owns the rights, he's been trying to get a new show off the ground for years. He even did a talk show on TVLand with Alf as the host. What makes you think Paul Fusco wouldn't be involved? He's still alive and has performed the character as recently as 2 years ago.

My memory of it is that we do see shots of him full-body every so often (played by a dwarf in a suit, of course), but the suit looks different to the puppet, with a much smaller pinhead look. But it's been a long time, so I could be wrong.I suppose that was the reason why we almost never got to see Alf below the waist.
Why does Ross, the largest friend, not simply eat the other five?
I liked ALF, for the most part, back in the day. I would be curious to see a new series.
Might be funny if ALF goes after what he thinks is a cat and it turns out to be a skunk....
They did do the occasional full body shots with little person Michu Meszaros, who died back in 2016, in a costume. My memory of it is that we do see shots of him full-body every so often (played by a dwarf in a suit, of course), but the suit looks different to the puppet, with a much smaller pinhead look.
