Alexander Siddig Interview: He reveals anger over changes to Bashir

Re: Alexander Siddig Interview: He reveals anger over changes to Bashi

I totally agree on all your points.

Overall, for me, it just screams lack of planning.

I have such a love / hate relationship with DS9. There are so many threads I want to love about the series, but so many inconsistencies that make my head hurt when I think about it.

That and of course all the parallels between B5; let's not even get started on those.

Re: Alexander Siddig Interview: He reveals anger over changes to Bashi

Nana didn't like the idea of Kira and Odo getting together at first. She also talked about getting in a screaming match with Ira about a potential affair between Kira and Dukat. [/snip] I think Terry Farrell said she wanted things to end differently for her character.

I have to agree that I can't see Kira and Dukat having a fling unless she doesn't know it's Dukat. ;) And even then, she'd probably be going, "You remind me of somebody."

Also, I'm sure that Jadzia Dax would have gotten a better death than being knocked off like a redshirt if Terry Farrell had simply given themselves more notice that she was leaving.

And seriously; leaving because she was afraid of being type cast; she should have had no fear of that.

No one in DS9 really got typecast to Star Trek (except perhaps Michael Dorn, who, lets face it, already was, after TNG). Honestly, if anything, I think she actually hurt her career going to Becker and the long run.
