TNG/DS9/TOS covered Real World issuesMore "real world". Yay?
Maybe we can have a special episode about the trials of prostate issues that get men up at all hours of the night to urinate?
It needs an official name before it gets a forum. I wonder what their reveal plan is. If DSC runs straight for 14 weeks we are looking at a late April finale. I am guessing some sort of trailer will be ready by then. Hopefully there will be more details sooner. That would be something to ask in QSF, but I expect that it’s way too soon.
Good point! It needs an official name before it gets a forum.
More grounded and more real world, sounds like it will be less scifi, less action, more about the characters. Hopefully it will not be about Picard playing Dixon Hill all the time.
But Kurtzman also says Season 2 of Discovery is more grounded. Maybe it just means less Klingons in Picard.

So... "Final Mission: The Series"?"Real World" can mean many things. A show that downplays the tech or a show that is about modern social isssues. It can be more gritty and edgy. Since I am not sure this show is going to be fully ship based I am guessing more about issues and less advanced tech will be the way they go. I am thinking something like "Lost" since they guy making it was apart of "Lost." Combine a great deal of raw human drama with a otherworldly type of mystery which in that shows case was the island. Like "Lost" I think the tech will often be very basic and even retro in how it is used. The aliens though might be the opposite and more weird than we are use to.

Shame it's going to be different, I was really looking forward to seeing Michael Dorn in full DSC make-up.

Well my new theory is a young starfleet cadet who admires Picard is going to track him down on a island and hand him his reskian flute only for him to casually toss it over his shoulder into the ocean.
