Alan Rickman dies at 69

RIP Alan, your character portrayals are among my favourites. You are going to be deeply missed.

These surprising passings are very hard to take.

Well isn't that a nice kick in the groin first thing in the morning; Damn!!

By Grabthar's Hammer, he will be missed.

Word.

Damn. Loved him as Professor Snape in the Harry Potter films. And whenever I read the books, his voice was the one I heard/pictured as the character.

Thanks for the memories sir. RIP Mr. Rickman.

One of the greats. Can't think of anything I've seen him in that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed.

RIP, Mr. Rickman. Thoughts and prayers to his family. :(

Very sad:( So many memories with him:(

"Mr. Potter."

R.I.P. Alan Rickman

How bizarre is it that he and David Bowie both died of cancer, at 69, just days apart?

Rest In Peace Mr. Rickman, and thank you for all that you have given us. You are one of the best.

And as always... fuck you, cancer...

RIP, Alan Rickman. Sad, sad news. :(

I love his performances in Die Hard and Harry Potter but Galaxy Quest was always one of my favorites too.

First Bowie, now Rickman? Goddammit. This year sucks already.

Rest in peace good sir. Thank you for so many wonderful performances.

Ok, this has to stop.

I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan, my favorite Rickman character was Hans Gruber... "Shoot...the glass."

Despite all of the money that has been spent on cancer research in the past 40 years, it never seems like any progress is being made against this horrible disease, though I suppose that many more small battles are being won now than in the past.

I was stunned when I read the news this morning. Rickman is one of my favorite actors and his role as Snape was the best thing about that series of movies. I remember reading last year that he was Rowling's first choice to play Snape and what a perfect casting choice that was. He was in so many memorable roles, like Die Hard, Galaxy Quest, Harry Potter, and I was reminded he played Marvin in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

He was surely be missed. :(
