^^ No, there was supposed to be a giant-sized finale wherein the 1963 characters encounter the then-contemporary Image characters, contrasting the Silver Age with the Morbid Age. Never happened, though. I have a vague recollection of one of the creators getting the rights to his characters back for an upcoming project, but I can't remember the details.

I love 1963 - some of my favourite Moore work, and a great riff on Silver Age comic books. But as you say, unfinished. Dammit!

I loved 1963, too. I wish there was more. Same with Big Bang.

I thought 1963 did have an ending... years and years on. Did I dream that?

The "80-Page Double Giant Image Annual" (in other words, the finale to 1963) didn't happen for a couple of reasons, from Alan Moore losing interest to Jim Lee going on sabbatical.
