Whoa, defensive. En guard?
C'mon, dude, is that really all you got? I think I made some reasonable points, why not try responding to them? For instance, if you think a recap like this is so easy, why not try writing one yourself? The Agony Booth accepts submissions from anybody, as long as they're funny.

(p.s. I will accept your failure to submit a recap to the Agony Booth as your tacit agreement that you're completely wrong on this.)

I went back in read my post believing what you wrote, but I did not find where I said any of those things. I did say
Well, no, you didn't say all those things. Spanky said the recap wasn't hard work, and it could easily be copied and pasted from around the 'net. You only said that I make a career out of hurting people. I didn't repeat all the attributions, because I thought all that was obvious just from reading the thread. But since your senility must be kicking in, I went ahead and cleared that up.

I do admit to saying "If you are going to make a career on hurting people then thick skin is a requirement." and stand by that.

And that statement is completely false, because it's predicated on a completely false assumption. It's like me telling you, "Hey, if you're gonna hit your kids, you should at least do it in places where the bruises won't show." That statement would make no sense, because you don't hit your kids and have no intention of doing so (AFAIK).

So, if you want to stand by blatant falsehoods, it's your business, but I think I made myself pretty clear in this thread as to why "you make a career out of hurting people" is a complete lie.

I cannot judge you by the other critical satire places you mentioned because I don't follow them. Personally, I don't have any desire to read a satire that compares someone's face to a canker sore.

I have a pretty hard time believing someone who spends any time at all on the internet has never heard of Best Week Ever, TMZ, The Soup, or Mystery Science Theater 3000. Either you're a troll, or you're some kind of monk who only emerges from your cave for ten minutes each day purely to talk about Enterprise. If it's the latter, the Agony Booth is probably not your speed.

Obviously you do, and that irony gives me a bigger chuckle than anything in the review that started this thread.

As I already said, if I cared if people liked the recap or not, why didn't I pop into the "Night in Sickbay" thread? Since you'll probably ignore the question, I'll give you the answer: It's because people there were critcizing the recap, and not making personal insults about the recapper.

Did you actually read my entire post, or is senility kicking in again?

Anyway, since the whole point of the Agony Booth is to make people laugh, and since I've succeeded in making you chuckle, that means I win!!!!!

Dude, Albert, chill. Some people can't be reasoned with.

And yes, I'm the same guy as on your forum.

So a little criticism pushes you to the point of personnel attacks? If you cannot take negative criticism you may not be the ideal person to manage a web site that specializes in it as entertainment.

Oh, come on, it's just good natured ribbing. It's the least I can do for someone who accused me of hurting people for a living. You don't think I'm actually accusing you of being a senile monk who hits his kids, are you?

But anyway, just to show my goodwill, I won't even make fun of how you misspelled "personal". I had a really good joke lined up too, but just to make peace, I won't use it.

Anyhow, I think I made all the points I wanted to make here, so until someone else shows up to accuse me of kicking puppies or eating babies, I'm bowing out of this thread. And I invite everyone here with a sense of humor to check out the Agony Booth. I guarantee it's more fun than this forum, or your money back.

^puppy-kicking baby-eater :p :p :p :p :p

The review was okay, kind of amusing in parts, not in others. My main problem was the reviewer not having watched the series at all. It's one thing to lay into an episode you really hate (which seems to be the intention of the site as well) of a series you love, like or even dislike, another to go into an episode cold with a fully intended bias of only looking for the bad/sarcastic angle - you could easily rip into even the greatest of Trek (or any TV show/movie) episodes with that attitude.

Plus the episode was never really intended to be more than it was, a light-hearted, no big action/seriousness romp before the series finale and it had a build-up both in the preceding eps & with the earlier Tandaran/TCW eps that the reviewer had to gloss over and miss what admittedly small significance there was in the episode because he/she had never been privvy to that.

I guess I'd rather read a review (of whatever disposition) by someone who was a regular, or at least semi-regular viewer. It's just more informed and I have a better understanding of where they are coming from.

Well, I could give you 100 reasons why I don't want to write a recap, or more importantly, a recap upon that website.

1. I have far more important things to do with my time. We're not all on the computer 24/7.

2. I don't want to write a recap, and to do so because you're getting your panties in a twist over a bit of criticism yourself isn't only hypocritical, but it's down right funny.

3. Writing a recap upon that horrendous website would drive me to becoming an alcoholic, eventually leading to depression, and then finally end in suicide.

4. If you're the type of person of what I'd expect to find there, I'd rather not post some bullshit about an episode of Star Trek for your benefits to see 'who can write a better recap now plonx'.

5. You're fat.

But you also understood my original post as something of insulting not only your recap (if it is yours), but the entire website in general; if I wanted to, I could of just said "Wow, what a horrific recap written upon a horrific website full of horrific people- why couldn't the Nazis have killed them instead?" but I didn't. And then you say I'm accusing you of plagiarizing other Trek fan's reviews? No, sir. I did not. I said I myself could write the same review by copying and pasting what other Trek fans have said- because that recap is full of the usual "Archer's a terrible captain, T'pol's evil" ect what every Trek fan who doesn't like Enterprise says; which leads to another point that you're clearly picking on the bad parts and leaving out the good for the benefit of trying to be funny and inserting Beatles song jokes in there. No, you're not funny. Leave being funny to comedians or people who are told "You're funny".

(P.S. Accept me doing whatever you want for not posting a recap on your website. It could mean I'm scared of you for possessing such intimidating writers on there, or it could mean I just don't care enough to write a recap because some insulted person on the internet wants to have a "recap-off". :3)

Since we just CAN NOT play nice, thread closed. the agony booth and Spanky, warnings to you both. BOTH of you are just trolling each other at this point. Really, the name-calling is ridiculous and I can't imagine this thread getting any better any time soon.
