Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 - Discussion (SPOILERS LIKELY)

There was a Roxxon connection as a plot point...a Roxxon executive was assassinated. It was a bit more than just an incidental name-drop.

For the third time, my point is that they weren't portrayed as the villains there as they have been on TV. I'm not unaware of the details you're mentioning, they just aren't relevant to my actual point.

Guardians is tied in through the whole Kree/Inhuman connection.
It is tied but for the Guardians to be mentioned on Agents of SHIELD, like I wanted SHIELD to come into play on The Age of Ultron would have taken an Asgardian or that Kree soldier who came out of nowhere to mention this one specific team in a world where the Asgardians seem to be in almost constant warfare

Your point was never in dispute. Your description of Roxxon's role in IM3 as a "mention" was.

Superman's role in Batman & Robin--that's a "mention".

Don't be so literal. I chose not to mention that detail because I thought it would be tedious and pointless to dwell on an irrelevancy like that. And you know what? I was right. This is incredibly tedious and pointless. Can we drop it already?

I'm still hoping for Modok (or MODOK) and a AIM with their yellow beekeeper suits at least in one appearance.

I would also like to see a Madame Hydra/Viper someday.

Oscorp may theoretically be allowed with Spider-Man joining the MCU, but Marvel/Disney did not reacquire the rights to Spider-Man. Every act of putting something on a TV show would require approval of Tom Rothman, Amy Pascal, and probably Kevin Feige (there's always been a description of the movie guys getting veto power, I assume it's Feige, but it could be Alan Horn).
Oscorp Tower almost made it into the New York skyline in The Avengers even before the Spider-Man deal was made, so there does seem to be some willingness to share minor things so long as the MCU doesn't alter Oscorp's status quo too much.

I'm not sure what the chances of Viper would be since we already got her in The Wolverine. I guess she could be another Quicksilver, but I'm not sure.

IIRC, the Sony hack revealed that whatever impression they gave the Marvel people, Sony Pictures were never really going to go for it. Mostly just going through the motions because corporate told them to try negotiating something. If I'm remembering this right, it was because of that leak that Spider-Man is now in the MCU as it's how corporate in Japan found out the movie people were not doing as they were told. Word is they were told in no uncertain terms that they *will* make the deal and give Marvel creative control over the IP.

I wasn't sure if that "Viper" was the only Viper that could have been shown, she did have some similarity to the Viper I'm talking about, but Madame Hydra was always just a non mutant non powered person unless using something to get some temporary powers. I didn't think that portrayal was definitively her. Of course, Sliver Samurai was not really like himself either, but he was a mutant, I think. And the Serpent Society is not with the X-Men, but I'm no expert in what IPs Fox has and doesn't.

I really thought they might be getting Kara to be Madame Viper, with the facial scaring, but then the had Ward kill her, the dick.

Were Daisy and Lincoln able to fly to Colombia, and wherever Joey lives, and then the HYDRA base, in the time between the plane landing and the onboard battle? Wow, I guess she did get them to fly faster.

I guess that with the death visions we can assume that a SHIELD quinjet can go orbital

According to Wikipedia, she was meant to be the Madame Hydra Viper, and I do remember talk about her and Hydra and all of that when the movie came out. It does seem a little odd that a character so closely associated with Hydra would be with the X-Men rights. The Wikipedia article does say that she did try to kill Mariko Yashida while she was in a relationship with Silver Samurai, but overall she does still seem to be more associated with the non-X-Men characters and Hydra.

^ Well that article is from 3 days, and is simply jumping the gun for all the reasons others have been saying.

I would say though it doesn't surprise me if Marvel want to wait a bit before creating yet another "franchise" (within the big franchise.) Due to the big success of Ant-Man they had to change their schedule to allow a sequel. True, post Inifinity Wars the Iron Man, Captain America and Thor movies will be over and done with, but what about people demanding a Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, Captain Marvel 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Ant Man 3, MCU Spider-Man 2, an Avengers 4 (or 5?) etc etc

If all those originals are hits, I can see Marvel rather wanting to do sequels to them before it's too late to rake in all the $$$s instead of starting work on an Inhumans 1.
Otherwise with only 2-3 slots for movies a year, people would have to wait a fair old while for those above sequels

Probably more like sub-orbital I think, like an SR-71 or a U-2. For one thing it doesn't have any rocket engines with which to de-orbit and without the ability to retro-burn in a vacuum, it'd be stuck up there until the orbit decays though low density air drag...which could take months or years depending on the altitude and eccentricity.

Time for Marvel to start investing some of those $$$ towards studio expansion! :D And I am still waiting for a theme-park.

Actually, in the movie, Silver Samurai was explicitly not a mutant.
Viper is supposedly a shared character (although reportedly, Fox can't call her Madame Hydra). She's very closely associated with Wolverine's travels in Japan (and particularly associated with Silver Samurai).
