You may be right. And we'll probably never know, since they'll probably never get into it that deeply. Unless they play it like Soap and decide that his aberrant behavior was caused by a brain tumor. They'll remove it, he'll be Gunga Din for a few episodes, then back on the team. The use use of fire in itself is not an indicator one way or the other. As I pointed out, the crucial detail is that his attempt was circumspect. I was actually going to mention poisoners, but I didn;t want to stray too far from topic, but seeing as you brought it up: to my knowledge, most serial killers who are known to use poison (mostly women, but a few notable men) tend to like to stick around so they can see their handiwork in action. Same with pyromaniacs. Indeed, for a lot of them, watching it is the whole point.
When Ward set that fire, he wasn't acting out some power fantasy, he's taking revenge and (I'm assuming) protecting his younger brother. Motivation and context matter in this regard.
Reverend: counter-question here.
Protecting his younger brother...or avenging him?
He's also a Senator, fwiw.Stewart Ward is a human/Z'nox hybrid with connections to HYDRA.
I feel that's kind of what Deathlok's role is right now, though.
Either way, I'd be surprised if he haven't hear the last of the Ward family.
You know it occurs to me that if one of Ward's brothers ends up as a super villain (or just an antagonist/killer) then I think it ought to be the younger brother rather than older one. After all, most real human monsters were made rather than born. Indeed, we've seen how much it twisted Grant being forced to inflict torment, imagine what it was like to be on the receiving end of that from the (presumably) one person he trusted.
There's no way anyone comes out of that kind of upbringing with all of their dogs barking. Certainly a much more interesting back story than just being a garden variety sadist.

Well, we know we're going to see more of Skye's family. I suspect we'll learn more about Triplett's family. We just met a member of May's family at the end of last season. And I would certainly enjoy an explanation about Koenig's "family".
So Ward's family may definitely come back into play.

We already have Grant Ward for that, though.
Although I don't think any of Ward's powers should get superpowers.
