After Trek 11 replace TOS 1701 with prequel Enterprise

I want to see every episode of TOS remade with the new cast and sets.

Even Spock's Brain.

Let's see every episode of TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT rewritten to be watchable by the modern audiences that will love Trek XI, and then replace their old fashioned FX with the new, much cooler Trek XI ship!

Then we'll just forget there ever was any other Trek at all! That would be da bomb! :guffaw:

"Spock's Brain" kills kittens.

There. Someone with the balls had to say it.

I quite honestly find Turnabout Intruder to be a bigger kitten killer.

Sandra Smith(Janice Lester)had a nice ass. That HAD to amount to something.

Not MUCH I admit. But at least the antagonist in the episode wasn't another talking volcanic rock alien. :D

Interesting that in the first 3rd season episode aired, Spock loses his brain and in the final one aired, Kirk loses his balls....

As far as I can tell, the 2008 movie Enterprise will just be a much more detailed and textured version of the classic NCC-1701 we all know and love. A super souped-up version of the current Remastered version. I could be wrong, but so far I don't think so.

I just want to know if it has the goose-necked data displays that were around in Pike's era.

I think it's pretty clear from what (little) we have seen so far that the new movie is at the very least a visual reboot. The new Enterprise cannot realistically be placed into the exiting design lineage of the NCC-1701 (it looks more akin to a stage between the TOS and TMP ships than a TOS prequel). Therefore, there are three possible outcomes:

- This is now the way we are all supposed to consider TOS looking. This could happen, but I think that for the sake of merchandising (who will want to create both the old and new Enterprise' as sellable models), it's unlikely. Besides, it would annoy too large a portion of the fanbase (the 'purists'), and Abrams is too much of a savvy producer to do that.
- This will be an altered timeline created by some part of the film's alleged time-travel story. This is my personal 'most likely', as Robert Orci is on record saying that every change in the new movie from existing canon will have an explanation.
- It's a total reboot, with no consideration given to the old canon (1966 - 2005). I don't deem this likely, either, as many of the people involved in the project have said otherwise.

I'm pretty sure Abrams and his crew want to have their cake and eat it too. They'll say the new movie takes place between the two pilots The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before despite the fact that everything probably won't fit realistically in the visual design lineage. Everyone involved with this new film has pretty much said most things will look radically different than it is suppose to. My prediction is that the movie will be a remake that, for the most part, will remain faithful to the original canon. But rather than be honest, they'll say it isn't a remake. Despite the fact that they want the unfamiliar public to think exactly that with the title simply being "Star Trek".

I think this is sad because it seems like they're using this as an excuse to snub William Shatner. If they put him in, they'll know the fans will realize they weren't being serious about this not being a reboot. Which I don't understand because they don't need the fans. And even if this film isn't a remake, if this film uses time travel and alternate timelines, why not have Shatner's Kirk exist in another timeline and assist Spock, knowing he'll cease to exist if his friend is successful? JJ Abrams said he didn't want to come off as a fan boy by adding in Shatner, but that's flagrantly hypocritical of him. Having Leonard Nimoy's Spock come back through time travel isn't fan boyish? How does that premise not sound like fan fiction? This angers me a little, but only because of my loyal invested interest in Star Trek, especially TOS, which doesn't seem to matter anymore.

Either way, I believe we the fans no longer count. No amount of online feet stomping will change that. I'm going into the film with very low expectations, which is probably the best way to avoid massive disappointment. I'm also going to pretend this movie doesn't really count. It takes place in another universe very similar to the one we know and love, so it is okay to enjoy myself.

Heed this warning die-hard TNG fans. It is only a matter of time before they recast your show and some stranger puts his dick in the iconic art designs you love too. :)

Don't make me break out the warning stick.

I'm not even into BDSM, and yet your comment made me stand at attention. I'm learning new things about myself everyday. Or maybe it was Joanne Linville....

They have been honest that it will be a remake.

Just like Superman Returns, King Kong, and The Maltese Falcon.

...

Why is this surprising? :confused::wtf:

The bulk of it is set prior to the TOS Kirk episodes(2265-69), so technically it's a prequel.
