After the Lost Finale airs, Damon and Lindelof ....

Don't they normally do this each season?

Yeah - but that's cos they don't want to talk about the cliffhanger or how things will resolve/change. They can't possibly end the season on a cliffhanger - the series is ended - so then why radio silence?! Unless, they're going to go with this is a dream of an autistic child!?! Aargh- the thought of it alone makes me upset.

Once LOST is over, why the hold-up in talking about it or answering things that were not answered by the finale. Tons of people have been invested in weird little incidents. (Including stuff like why was Libby in the loony bin with Hurley prior to Flight 815). And they aren't going to get answered on these items?!!

I tend to agree that they're probably never going to explain everything, and I sadly believe that some of the stuff is just not going to make sense. I mean, I'd like to be wrong on this, but I doubt it.

And this probably means that we will never know which Kwon was one of the candidates?!!

Aargh... Those are the kinda questions I would like to have Carlton and Damon answer after the finale... Oh well...

Hugo - officially terrified that the finale is going to be average. Not brilliant. Not "What the hell was that shit?". Average...

Impossible.
Improbable.

Yet a lot of this season hasn't sat right with me, with it feeling imbalanced and lacking the pulsing narrative of the past two and a half years. I fear the show has a great deal to do in these remaining episodes and I'm concerned it will thematically peter out. No doubt there will be more shocks, twists and suprises and yes very few of them have resonated with me this year. Overall my feeling for this season has been one of, well, indifference.

I pray I am wrong as the show has been so consistently entertaining for me over the past 5 years that I would hate for it to go out on a damp squib

Hugo - Ironically, a Man of Science, not Faith

I should clarify: it may not be brilliant, but I'm positive that whether you love it or hate it, at the end of it you will be asking "What the hell was that shit?". :p

Given that all of the remaining candidates last season traveled back in time to the 70s and Sun conspicuously didn't, I'm guessing Jin was the candidate and she wasn't.

It would also help to explain how he was able to survive the big freighter explosion, since it seems you can't just kill a candidate outright but there are some "rules" about it.

Except, as was pointed out by someone much cleverer than I when I theorized the same thing as you, Kate travelled back in time too and it's been pointed out in show multiple times now that she is not a candidate.

Too much back and forth around the rules for how candidates can be killed.

It's much simpler to say that, candidate or not, you can't be killed until the island is done with you.

She may not be a candidate now, but even if she isn't a candidate now, she was at some point. In the cave she's number 51, crossed out. At the lighthouse, her name was not crossed out.

My guess is the upcoming LOST encyclopedia will answer some of the low-hanging fruit stuff...like the supply drop.

But this is theory (which is great) - I would've liked some confirmation from Damon or Carlton about it.

How does the theory explain how Jin allows himself to drown with Sun? Isn't that suicide or is it still governed by the rule that Sawyer activated the C4 bomb? These darn "rules" need clarification!!

Yeah, I have a feeling it's because Sawyer activated the bomb.

What bugged me about that death scene, though, was that neither of them was particularly concerned about who was going to raise their daughter.
