After seeing Pike in action, I would love a pre-TOS Enterprise show

Here's what is hopefully the defacto teaser for the series!

I'm definitely on board with a Pike show with Anson Mount. I felt that there is a lot to be done with Pike, and he could be the best captain since Sisko. When this season ended, I found I cared much more about Pike and the Enterprise than I did Burnham and Discovery.

We saw very little of Pike's life. They don't even have to pick it up right after this finale. They could do maybe 2 seasons of Pike on the Enterprise and handle the transition to Kirk. They could really go into Pike's accident, and see how he adjusted on Talos IV.

And given all the medical discoveries and aliens, why not cure him? We never really saw Pike after the events of the Menagerie. In For The World Is Hollow And I Have Touched The Sky, McCoy discovered a slew of medical advances that could cure incurable diseases. What if in that data, there was a cure for Pike?

They have endless possibilities.

I was quietly hopeful this might happen until I saw this online:

2:43 in, Anson Mount looks like he'd rather eat rusty razor blades than come back. He even does some crazy muttering afterwards.

If the conceit of Trek was the look then I would agree. I love the TOS look but even GR distanced himself from it when he had the chance.

Only because he was fed up with network interference and moving the show to the worst time slot possible, but this was long before the alcoholism fried his brain. Conversely, he had to be removed from the 80s movies and TNG (even the latter half of season 1 takes on a different tone compared to insipid rewrites such as what "Justice" was turned into)) because of some of his more outlandish ideas that couldn't possibly work or be taken seriously by the audience (the Kennedy idea, the outline for Troi's original appearance that DC Fontana and Majel Roddenberry weren't too keen on, etc, etc, cheesy pukearama, et cetera, thank excessive sauce binging for that.)

Yeah even though I wasn’t exactly A fan of discovery I do really like pike. Kinda reminds me of Sisko. although I think pike is just a little bit more rein in.

I've always said that I'd love to see a Star Trek TV series set in the Clingon world, from the Clingon point of view, around the same time frame as TNG
