After Season 1, where did you think Season 2 would go?

Arpy

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Mecha Picard and his motley crew warp away at the end of Season 1, what did you imagine the show would do in Season 2?

Or what would you like for them to have done?

Finally, how about in the context of Season 3?

I'd heard Elnor would "explore his sexuality" in the original plans for season two, before Chabon left. Instead the poor lad was practically wiped off the face of the earth.

And then the next plan was going to be Covid... in space! (Which was also the plot of Noah Hawley's cancelled movie), which was vetoed by Sir Patrick.

I never expected we'd get anywhere near as nostalgia-bait and fanwank obsessed as the show became.

I thought it might go with Picard and crew joining up with the Fenris Rangers, and the story might move towards the Fenris Rangers becoming the 25th century version of the Maquis, except this time Picard finds himself on the other side.

I kind of was hoping for more off world stuff in space or maybe a season long thing about the tentacle robot thingy having broken through to our side mid season and then the rest is a way to work out how to deal with it. before a cliffhanger to set up season 3 and have season 3 be what we got in season 2

Maybe just seeing the La Sirena crew out exploring would be nice. Picard's got a new lease on life, and Rios, Raffi, and Seven are ex-Starfleet hardened by past events, so maybe they'd all like to get back to simply seeing the galaxy, but now on their own terms. Then of course Q pops up throwing a wrench in that with more "humanity's still on a trial stuff" stuff.

I thought it would have some stand alone exploration before dealing with something bigger going on with the Federation,Fennis Rangers and Romulans involved. We would see Captain Worf of the Enterprise and the EMH would show up. Maybe Quark, Ro and Q as well.

I was thinking that they would spend more time exploring Picard as a synth. I also was expecting another adventure on the La Sirena. And I was thinking we would get more 24th century worldbuilding. I wasn't expecting half the crew to go to Starfleet, though that was a welcome surprise.

i think I expected for Season 2 the show would explore life on the final frontier from a non-Starfleet perspective. Picard would see that many of the ideals of the Federation he highly valued sometimes clashed with how things really were when Starfleet isn't around to back them up. Maybe there would even be times when the crew of La Sirena would even view Starfleet as something of the enemy when a situation puts them at odds...

I also expected more cowbell too. Everything's better with more cowbell...
:vulcan:

Wasn't one of the first teasers for season 2 showing some Bajoran artifacts? I thought we would get updates on the Bajorans and maybe even the Dominion. The crew had just formed and season 1 ended with them going on on another adventure. Maybe we could have explored of more 7's past as a Fenneris Ranger.

I maintain it was a missed opportunity not equipping Picard's new synth form with transformer capabilities. For example:

- Picard's forearm transforms into a phaser blaster.

- On a planet of pre-warp natives and need a ride? No need to haul a buggy to the surface, Picard *is* the buggy. You could even have his face plastered on the front like Thomas the Tank Engine.

- All hands, abandon ship! Fear not, Jean-Luc has you covered and can transform into an escape pod.

I mean, come on.

I mean just for shits and giggles that would be fun... Pity programmable matter doesn't yet exist in Picard's time

It was right there, Paramount

I had originally assumed Season One would have been it. I thought "Picard" was going to be a limited series. And now, I wish it had remained that way.

I don't know I kind of understand that but found myself liking season 2 more then season 1 so want the last season to be good. May I ask why you said that though?
