The Fish and Wildlife Service is part of the executive branch of government, thus they are part of the Obama Administration.
For eight years every action taken by any executive branch agency was not only tagged as "the Bush Administration", it was even blamed on the RoveBush CheneyHaliburton Illuminati.
During the Bush years I had no qualms about whales, and one of my online friends from Norway routinely praised it. I even used genuine whale oil to light my house during a one-week winter power outage. It burns much cleaner than corn oil (which produces a sooty smoke).
These days if I ran across an endangered whale I'd be afraid to blast it with an exploding harpoon without constantly looking over my shoulder, much less serving the meat to thousands of friends.
This is an upsetting twist in our political life. As Hillary wrote, it takes a village to raise a child. Well it takes a whale to feed a village. People are suffering enough in these hard economic times without taking endangered marine mammals off the menu.
