Addicted to Reading?

When I read a novel, I stay up way too late.

When I read a textbook, I fall asleep way too early.

My parents got a bit worried when I was young because I was reading so much. And they really value education and learning, so that says a lot. I think it's all about striking a balance.

I have no problem turning down social engagements because sometimes I simply prefer to stay at home for whatever reason (often I have a good book that would be better company). At the same it's a good idea for most people to get out and socialize to a degree as well. As long as you aren't completely isolating yourself, it shouldn't be a problem.

I don't get invited out much, but there are times when I do that I would still rather stay in and read, or play computer games, not that I am antisocial or don't like to interact with my friends, but I prefer the relative quiet where I can talk with people, catch up and stuff, not loud music of clubs and parties. Few quiet drinks in a pub then see a film, sure, night on the town and then off to a club or party, nah, I'll stay in.

Come to think of it, it could be the fact I've turned down so many that I don't get invited out more.
