Knowing the amount of movies, television, novels, etc that riff on Shakespearean plays but adapt the characters and situations into new ones, has anyone here ever been tempted to try this with fan fiction? Say a reworking of Macbeth in the Star Trek universe, or a Babylon 5 adaptation of Hamlet, to give some examples?

My current novel Shadows In The Haze has a plotline which is very loosely based on Shakespeare's The Tempest.
