Adama vs. Sisko

Who would win in a drinking game?
Hard call. I'd say Sisko, but I'm more familiar with DS9. Sisko seems to be a better leader and strategist, Adama seems to be better at smaller-scale, tactical stuff. Maybe a "Sisko is to Adama as Adama is to Tigh" situation?
What? Kira, Dax, Worf, O'Brien, Bashir, Odo, Garak after a fashion, even Quark... let alone Martok and Ross... as opposed to Lee, Kara, Tigh, Boomer,
Roslin, Baltar after a fashion...
Which of that collection looks more like geniuses and which more like fools?

I'm honestly surprised at all the Sisko love, but I can say I can't I blame them as Sisko is by far my favorite Starfleet captain. Between Sisko and Adama though, I would have to say Sisko. All around Sisko was a far better leader then Adama. Sisko had the military behind him, the religious figures behind him, the government, the people etc. Adama's hold on the government was tepid at best, and the people of the fleet actively did not trust him. I could never see Sisko garnering that kinda of hatred.
You know Edward James Olmos would have made a great wartime admiral on DS9. Better then that Admiral Ross guy they had at the end. That guy sucked. He just deferred all his decisions to Sisko (smart, but it made him look weak).
Admiral: "Oh, I don't know if we should go all the way to Cardassia Prime"
Sisko: yes we should.
Admiral: Ok, I guess.

If it was Bill Adama the conversation would go like this:
Adama: "No frakking way are we going to go to Cardassia Prime. Are you out of your frakking mind?!"
Sisko: "I disagree-"
Adama: "Don't you disagree with me. Get your ass out of here before I throw you out the airlock you motherfrakker!"

And then comes Sisko giving Admiral Fatass a beatdown.
Typical Adama. Throwing a temper tantrum whenever someone won't praise the glory that is him and threatening someone with violence. If it wasn't for God manipulating events, everyone would have been dead by the second episode because of his leadership.
Tough decision.

Maybe Ross should have been more like Admiral Cain

You left out the last line (if Ross was behaving like Cain):

Can't agree. With Ross in charge, The Federation was stymied and had to lie, cheat and beg for help when the Dominion stormed the Alpha quadrant.
If Adama had been in charge, Starfleet would be in the Gamma quadrant before the Dominion even moblized, and the famous stare would be making the Founders pee themselves.
Nah, Adama would have gotten killed by one of his own officers who was replaced by a Changling long ago. And would have a phaser set to disintegrate instead of a gun.
eh, no contest. adama. if you said picard or adama then picard.
You have to give them the same ships and 1 years training with crew and ships for this to be fair.
1st battle BSG style

2 battlestars and 2 cylon base ships equipped with there full compliments of fighters.
Both are excellent tactical commanders, because of this I think both would go after each others flagship command centers, which makes me think neither of them would survive this, and it would be left to the second in command to win it. So Worf vs Adama Jr. I give this battle to the federation.
2nd battle Star Trek style
All Different ships 7 in total, they each have
1 Klingon Bird of Prey
1 Defiant type ship
1 Romulan Warbird
1 Enterprise type ship (Latest)
1 Borg cube
1 Voyager type ship
1 Shinzon's Romulan Flagship
This battle would also be quite interesting, this one they don't know which ship the other is on for flagship command, you would think either the Borg Cube or Shinzon's Flagship. Either way it would be quite the battle of tactics.
I am going to say Sisko, if his flagship survives, if Adama finds it and kills it, Adama.
