Actors You'd Like to See in Trek

In terms of bigger-name actors who may help the box office:

Tom Hanks would be quite a coup.

A few years ago, Daniel Craig said he wouldn't mind being in a "Star Trek" movie. I think Craig would make an interesting Vulcan.

Either Ben Stiller (a fan) or Ricky Gervais would be a neat choice for a Harry Mudd-type of villain.

I agree with King Daniel that Johnny Depp would work as a Q or Trelane type of character. Almost too on point, really.

I see Craig as more of another captain/commodore like a Tracy or Decker.

yes he did say hed like to be in Trek and has worked with Orci already so its possible

Jack Black as Harry Mudd

Daniel Craig as a "normal" Garth of Izar (assuming the accident which turned Garth insane never happened in this timeline)

Tom Hanks as Capt. Ronald Tracey OR Commodore Matt Decker

Hanks would be quite a coup, and I would love to see a Super A-List Actor™ in a nuTrek film.

I am a bit more ambivalent about Jack Black, maybe because I am burned out on his acting style.

Jewel Staite as Charvanek (the Romulan commander from "The Enterprise Incident")

And I wonder if Ben Cross would be up for a "dual" role, as the Romulan from "Balance of Terror." Just to mess with people's heads. :rommie: :D

I'd love to see Dwayne Johnson or Dave Batista as Klingons. Maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger as Kahless.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jeff Goldblum or Jason Statham involved in some capacity.

Jack Black, mentioned earlier, is too short to play Harry Mudd. Mudd must be taller than Kirk, or it doesn't work.

Ricky Gervais could play Cyrano Jones.

^ Nah, I don't think so - I'd like to see Ferrell in Trek, but for some reason I actually wouldn't want him doing a comedy schtick. I wonder how he'd do if he played it straight.

That would be an interesting twist, make Harry Mudd a tortured, angsty, angry, 'bad guy'.

Meh, they have had enough of them.

Let Mudd be Mudd.

^ No, actually I meant having Ferrell play someone else entirely. Harry Mudd should be a funny guy, a basically harmless con-artist. I just don't see Ferrell playing him. If he wants to do Trek, let him play someone else.

Someone has a thing for redheads. :)

Yes. Yes I do. :D

Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johanson (in her best Natasha Romanoff look), Karen Gillian...just because.

I applaud this line of reasoning.

As should everyone. :techman:

Further examples of highly unlikely casting:

Liam Neeson would make a fine Klingon (though I'm not overly keen to see them again).

Denzel Washington (many different types of roles he could take on--versatile actor).

Viola Davis (same as Denzel).
