Re: Do you think the sequel will have "old" or "new" style Klingon mak

Well if you look at the final theatrical trailer there's a quick shot of Nero fighting two Klingons while escaping from a Klingon penal colony. Both Klingons are wearing armor so you can't see their faces, but their helmets do have distinctive cranial ridges. The bumps looked more in line with the TMP Klingons, but it was a helmet.

I think they should go with the "new" style.

I was hoping somehow they would've found a way to work in some Klingons into ST XI so that we could've gotten this out of the way early on, one way or the other.

Maybe the deleted Klingon subplot will prove one way or the other if those scenes were shot. I don't remember if they were. (EDIT: The Transformed Man just somewhat answered my question).

Re: Do you think the sequel will have "old" or "new" style Klingon mak

It is possible that in this alternate reality the Klingons discovered how to cure their mutation earlier than in the previous universe.
Not likely. The reality is exactly the same until the arrival of the Narada, and changes in continuity are impacted by this events. Even with butterfly effect, I think it is not likely. Not impossible, but very slim odds.

That's a nice in-universe answer but if they goes up with a design that looks better and goes with the tale they want to tell they will go with that. More than likely it will be similar in appearance but I wouldn't assume it would be quite the same. Look at the outfits before the Romuleans and Vulcans are wearing - different from before - plus the facial tatts on the romuleans...

Re: Do you think the sequel will have "old" or "new" style Klingon mak

Because of the way that the Augment Virus only hit some of the worlds of the Empire, it technically would only be a anachronism (and possibly not even that, thanks to the Butterfly Effect) if it was somebody like Kor or Kang.

There's a difference between events defining the universe and shirt color. Uniforms were changed in each series, it's a cosmetic detail and it is up for interpretation. DNA, on the other hand, is a part of the universe's construction. How a race looks cannot be interpreted. Only how one individual may change himself (tattoos and clothes).

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

A New style for the Klingons is the best way. Perhaps slight forehead ridges but have them appear with shorter hair like TOS (a mix of TOS and the modern).

They should maintain some of the charm of the TOS klingons and not be a brainless warrior race.

I think people are generally tired of the Berman/Braga era Klingons; they've been done to death.

What on earth are you talking about? you know this isn't a documentary? If the writers want the Klingons to have 12 inch dongers coming out of their head in the next film, they will do.

I mean.. you know why the Klingons ended up with those ridges? Because GR had the budget during TMP to make them look like he actually wanted to!

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

Kirk + Spock vs The Borg could be great.

When I say the Borg. I mean the Borg of "The Best of Both Worlds" not the watered down version we would see later on.

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

Tholians, Tzenkethi, Breen and more Romulans.

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

Not that I want a young Dr Carol Marcus in this..

But if I had to cast her, I'd cast Sarah Polley to play her (who starred with Bruce Greenwood twice)

But I dont think the character has a place in this universe.

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

A Borgified Khan alters the timeline leaving an omnipotent Tribble in command of the Enterprise when a dead beagle materializes on the cryogenic activation panel of the Botany Bay.

Re: What do you want to see/what actors in Star Trek XII?

I still say that a TOS Borg threat would quickly be neutralized by the combined forces of Kirk's Libido, Scotty's alcohol and Spock's unreal numbers.

Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

Could Q somehow be brought into a sequel of the new trek movies. That would be realy cool.

Re: Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

Maybe he could bring back Vulcan while he's in the neighborhood.

Re: Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

I guess he could do whatever he wanted.Who could play him?Liam Neason...could work.lol

Re: Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

Please GOD no............

Re: Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

No no no.

Plus it wouldn't really be in keeping with this new Trek.

Re: Would it be possible to bring Q into new trek?

I think they should bring the Q in on a movie. Why was he never in the Enterprise series?
