Act 2 of STOGAM this Saturday, Early Reviews Coming In.

To download, simply:
- view source, and look for the xml file reference
- load the xml file into your browser
- you'll see direct download links to several different flash files at varying resolutions, take your choice

Tried it, I also can't see the xml file.
I let it load all the way, but it plays very choppy... too choppy to watch.
That's after several attempts to open it at all, which usually crashed my browser .

I agree, I don't care for this delivery method. Can't wait to see the show though.

Tried to watch it several times, but I gave up waiting for the thing to load. Getting through the security lines at O'Hare takes less time. Sorry, OGAMites....

The good? Nichelle and to a lesser extent Walter. Costuming is good and the NV sets are solid.

The bad? Choppy dialog and the editing could be tighter. Garrett is still as unconvincing in this part as when playing Harry Kim. Alan's Harriman still doesn't work for me.

The ugly? The plot.

For whatever reason, and despite having the latest version of Flash, I've also been utterly unable to watch Act 2. Oh well.

Actually, this part was even easier to download than the first part was. Was given a choice of several different resolutions too. Burned a DVD and enjoyed it on my TV. I think it's ridiculous to try to stop people from downloading these.

How did you get that? Whenever I visit any of these links, all I can do is watch. No option to download exists anywhere on the page.

I don't think you can. Best I can do is let it stream until the bar is full up and watch it without interruption.
There are several plug-ins for Firefox that will let you download embedded content. un-plug is one of them.

In the source, it MENTIONS an xml file, which is local to the website. So you have to change the file you're viewing (index.asp) to the name of the XML file to get all the links. Mind you, the highest resolution FLV for Part II is 2.2gb! That's some kinda crazy IMAX HD for... what... 20 minutes worth of video?

I can't wait to watch it! Now if I can only get it to play.

Why not just put it on youtube? I'm sure there's a reason, and I'm also sure it's stupid.

That's the ticket laddie.
I downloaded them all, just for the heck of it and used the monster 2g+ file to burn to DVD.

Speaking of which: Who is this "[something] Prime" they kept talking about? It seemed like he was the leader of the Galactic Order, and that he and Harriman didn't get along. Is this person supposed to be Charlie?

The "Curate Prime?"

Khan Noonian Singh would be a good guess. ;)

To quote Sam Beckett:

"Oh, boy." :wtf:

It's Boomer from the original BSG (remember, Herb Jefferson Jr. is in OGAM and hasn't been seen yet). You see, what happened was when Charlie went back in time and prevented Capt. Kirk from being born, there was nobody to talk the Cylons into destroying themselves once the Glactica and their robotic nemesis found earth sometime in the mid 23rd century. (Kirk would have said something like, "Your goal is to bring order to the galaxy, but your very existance brings dis-order to the galaxy -- therefore in order to bring order to the galaxy, what must you do," and the cylons destroy themselves with a simple "by your command.") Instead, the federation fights a protracted war with the cylons, they win, but at great cost, form alliances with the Klingons, Romulans & Cardassians and form a society where security is more important than personal liberty. Boomer, now a war hardened veteran, has risen to the leader of this new order and is now "curate prime" the feared dictator.

Seriously, the 2nd part was better than the first focusing more on the characters than the action. It's beginning to look like all three parts put together will make an enjoyable hour of viewing.

For those having issues watching act 2, please PM and i will send you a special link to watch the film. -tom

I downloaded them all, just for the heck of it and used the monster 2g+ file to burn to DVD.

The only two file names I found that even looked right was one that ended in .swf (and using that file just gave me a repeat of the player window) and one in .xml (a page full of gibberish text).

The .xml one is right. It's not jibberish it's links to .flv files. Just copy one and you can download from that link.

Thanks, that worked. Sort of.

I downloaded the files, but they won't open. QuickTime Player says they're not movie files.

Had no problem downloading the FLVs for this or for the Takei New Voyages episode.

Wasn't a big hooha made about how secure this streaming technology was supposed to be?

Geez this takes forever..it kept stopping for 2-3 minuntes after about 30-35 seconds of playing ..after several attempts I am still not all the way through:scream::scream::scream:
