AC/DC returns!

Way to jump to a conclusion that's in no way supported by the article you linked to.

Looks like Wal-Mart is educating its managers on its positions re: Obama. They're not following anybody into the voting booth with a gun to their head.

Sorry, but I'm simply not going to support any corporation that has mandatory propaganda sessions in which employees are "educated" about how to vote - I don't care whether they favor the Republicans or the Democrats, that type of politicking simply doesn't belong in the workplace.

Here's how it was described by one Wal Mart employee in, of all places, the Wall Street Journal (hardly a left-wing publication):

"The meeting leader said, "I am not telling you how to vote, but if the Democrats win, this bill will pass and you won't have a vote on whether you want a union." I am not a stupid person. They were telling me how to vote."

And that means I'm going to take a pass on this new CD as well, given AC/DC's new corporate partnership.

I'm not particularly a fan of Wal-Mart myself, and I don't care who you choose to support or not with your consumer dollars - that's what a free market economy is all about.

Still, let's be fair here. What Wal-Mart is doing is by no stretch of the imagination "dictating" to anyone how to vote. If you can show me where Wal-Mart is firing employees for having Obama bumper stickers on their cars or signs in their yard, I'll be with you 100%. But lest we forget, corporations pay taxes and have an interest in who wins an election as much as anyone. They've got the right to try to inform their employees on what they see as key issues related to their business. The employees may have to go to the meetings, but they don't have to change their political opinions about it.

If you don't like it, fine, but don't exaggerate the facts.

You know, I really shouldn't have injected politics into this thread, and I apologize. I'd be happy to discuss and debate Wal Mart in TNZ if anyone would like, but I didn't mean to derail this for the AC/DC fans out there.

(And for the record, I'm a fan of the band as well.)
