Abyss DVD question

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I have the Abyss DVD, and I can tell it's not anamorphic even though I still have trouble "defining" that word. I can tell by how stretched the film looks on my widescreen TV.

Today I went to FYE and they had some new DVD's for sale for $5 up near the front of the store. One was the Abyss. It says (only in the specs box) that this is anamorphic.

So, I went to the sci fi section, and the older copies did not have the word anamorphic written in the specs box. The packaging looks the same for both in every other respect (for example BOTH have fine print that establishes that the DVD cannot be played on a computer drive)

I am wondering if anyone has a true anamorphic DVD of the film... because I suspect that this is a misprint.

Thanks!

I bought the special edition DVD a few years back, I still haven't watched it. I love the movie, but just never got around to it. I buy only BR now, but I still will keep this version because I don't want to double-dip.

AFAIK, Abyss has never existed as an anamorphic DVD.

I am aware of faulty packaging that says the DVD is anamorphic where it really is not. This happened with the Warner version of 2010, for example.

thank you~~~~~~~~
