Abram's Trek finally gets the ultimate approval!

My 10 year old son, who initially said he "hated" the movie after his theatrical viewing because they destroyed Vulcan & killed Spock's Mom, just watched it on DVD tonight, & said it was "pretty good, even though."
He likes Pine's Kirk, and even had a bunch of laughs along the way. He said the NuE was acceptable, and only looked away when kissing was involved.
So there you have it- the new movie is :techman:.

One thing I have to say about the new Star Trek movie...

The way they destroyed Vulcan sucked...

It REALLY sucked...

Getting consumed by a black hole...

Nothing SUCKS more than that...

This is why the next one should do $300K because the DVD and Blu-ray are building in a new fan base that wasn't there before.

People that would not see it on release at the theater will remember, hey that last Trek movie was way better than the last ones, I should go see it this time.

My 10 year old son (...) only looked away when kissing was involved.
Your son sounds like my late grandmother. :cardie: Except that she would also be very vocal about how immoral the world has gotten.

There's no way you could have gotten me to look away when people were kissing on screen when I was 10... or much younger. :rommie:

I think lots of kids would like this film... but I'm not certain. I have heaps of cousins so I'll be asking them over the holidays.

 I'm with ya. I remember my dad covering my face with his hands while I peeked through the fingers

^ Armond White is a self-centered, egomaniac, elitist film "critic" who seems to relish being a contrarian. He hates The Dark Knight and District 9 but loves GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (in his negative review of Avatar, he continues to praise Michael Bay and Revenge of the Fallen!!!). When Star Trek was 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, that web site's users predicted White would be the first negative review and he was! White initially praised The Hurt Locker, but then once other critics said they loved it, he then called it overrated.

He liked Next Day Air and Dance Flick. I'm convinced he's racist. He's also given bad reviews to all of the Pixar films and everything that was nominated for best picture last year. His reviews are actually almost incomprehensible.
