About the falling scene..

^ AHA! makes way more sense! Can't tell you how my obsessive little mind has been agonizing over these lines! I think thats the last of it....(although, i'm sure if i think about it some more i'll remember another one)

THANKS GUYS!
Well my friend, my wife is Russian and by some miracle of God, she watched the movie and liked it. I could have gotten that cleared up for you long ago. Oh well. I do have to agree that they smack the transporter pad pretty hard. Anyway, if anyone else needs some Russian translations from now on , I can get it for you.

^ Thanks Hunter. BTW, love your avatar. I am a huge Patrick Bateman/American Psycho/Christian Bale fan. (i just love the Hughie Lewis monologue.)

Yeah, it was on last week and I hadn't seen it in a while, so I watched it. I was looking for a good haloween avatar and when that came on , I knew what to do. The Huey Lewis thing is the best, especially the little dance he does:) I wanted to find a picture of him with blood in his mouth, but couldn't find a good one.

^ Hunter, oh yeah! That little dance just kills me!

M, is that an official transcript? Because i've found a few errors, which leads me to think that it isnt. For instance, when the names are being called out as to what ship each cadet (etc) should report to, "Spader" is a name called out, when we know it is actually "Vader". Not that its a big deal, im just curious as to whether or not this IS an official transcript.

Oh, I very much doubt that it's anything like official. What it seems to be is the result of someone copying down all of the English subtitles which appeared on the screen, perhaps from a version of the film dubbed into another language for overseas release. Errors in the subtitles are not all that uncommon (weekly television episodes are far worse) but you'd presume that there would be fewer of these in a feature film. Additional errors could have occurred during transcription, as well - say, if someone were in a hurry.

In the example you cite, it occurs to me that if "Vader" were to appear in the subtitles of an official release, it could conceivably be considered copyright infringement by LucasFilm/ILM, if they really wanted to be petty about it. Making it "Spader" might be a way for our guys to wink it past ("Oh, you heard 'Vader'? Ha ha, that would be pretty funny, wouldn't it? In a Star Trek movie, I mean, 'cause you know he's, like, Star Wars, right... but it isn't that - nono, really, it's not.")

Good point M! I look forward to watching the movie (SOON!!!! a little more than a month away. ARG!) with the CC on. It'll be interesting to say the least!

And, yeah, thats what i figured as far as that not really being an 'official' transcript.
