ABC is reportedly in talks about producing a remake of Alias.

According to E! Online, the network is in very early discussions about making a new version of the spy drama.

The original series, which aired from 2001 to 2006, was created by J.J. Abrams and starred Jennifer Garner as a double agent.

A source claimed that the remake would use some parts of the original series but would avoid mythology-based storylines such as the Rambaldi plot.
yeah why to think outside the box ABC, anything else you want to remake, Lost?

Is there any originality left in US networks.

I would like a remake of LOST where they actually explain shit.

That said the writers of LOST already know that sometime in the future there will be a LOST comic book, movie or spinoff of some type, that ABC wants to make it a franchise. And because in 6 years of the show we got no answers to anything really the mystery of the island remains!

ABC needs to remake Family Matters but like how Modern Family/The Middle & Cougar Town is done...I miss Urkel. :(

Jaleel White could play the dad. :)

Not so big a surprise. LOST is big this year. Star Trek was big last year. They can redo it and capitalize on JJ's brand name.

I didn't watch the original and have no clue how it ended, but why not a spinoff instead of a remake? How the remake is described in the article makes it sound like it would be really watered-down anyway. :wtf:

It'll be bizarre if it's actually a remake. Hopefully E! has its facts wrong and what's being considered is some kind of spin-off or continuation.

ABC & Alias 2.0

new spy series
Undercovers = NBC
Nikita = CW

ABC doesn't have one. awww.

ways to create a new series that could resonate with the kind of audience Lost had
"would most likely not include any sort of complex mythological throughline such as the Rambaldi prophecy."
From the IGN article.
Good I did not like that mythology. I liked the first 2 seasons and then the whole mythology really took over.

Look ABC making "Charlie's Angels" reboot why don't they just adapt that?

Charlies Spy Angels? you know that is just crazy enough to work

and yeah why not just make the new Alias a sequel, not sure what year Alias ended up being set, but im guessing half the original cast are out of work.

The re-make of Death at a Funeral was announced about a year or so after the original was released. People are weird.

I'm pretty sure they're all out of work besides Jennifer Garner and Bradley Cooper... poor Victor Garber can't catch a break with a new TV show.

don't forget Chuck:)

CBS is also in negotiations to pick up the spy drama Chaos for midseason, and USA has a spy series called Covert Affairs (starring Piper Perabo) in the works. Spy shows were all the rage this development season.

Re: ABC & Alias 2.0

Alias was never that big, certainly never as big as LOST. It's weird that they are doing a reboot.
