ABC to bring back the early 2000's

Yeah hasn't it only been (checks) four years since the original?

I never cared much for the show to begin with, but this is pretty damn ridiculous.

JJ already has Undercovers, which seems like it might be an Alias-type show, coming to NBC in the fall, and the CW has Nikita, which is based on La Femme Nikita, which will doubtless cover some similar ground as Alias did, and with a sleek, sexy lead in Maggie Q. I doubt an Alias remake will really get off the ground.

Don't forget the stiff competition from Chuck on NBC, the best spy show of them all right now. :D

^^ Sure. They can cross over with the new Miles & Sawyer cop show coming this Fall.

^ I'm hoping something happens with Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson (as they are thinking about working on some projects)

Anyways back to the reboot of Alias. I'd rather see a spin off, instead of a reboot. Anyways right at the moment, I'm watching the pilot episode for the first time.

Executive producers are George Tillman Jr., Matthew Pritzker and Robert Teitel of State Street along with co-creator Rene Rigal and Mal Young.

NBC - "Legends"

NBC just greenlit a pilot called "Legends" which is another CIA/Alias-type show.
deadline.com has the story. (i couldn't copy & paste the URL on this mobile web browser.)

Let's count 'em:
Nikita, Covert Affairs, Under Covers
and the 'in development' True Lies series coming, & ABC Family's "Shadows".

okay some are FBI-based but all are the spy genre.

ABC is reportedly in talks about producing a remake of Alias.

According to E! Online, the network is in very early discussions about making a new version of the spy drama.

The original series, which aired from 2001 to 2006, was created by J.J. Abrams and starred Jennifer Garner as a double agent.

A source claimed that the remake would use some parts of the original series but would avoid mythology-based storylines such as the Rambaldi plot.
yeah why to think outside the box ABC, anything else you want to remake, Lost?

Is there any originality left in US networks.

Expect way more of this if Hawaii 5-0 takes off.

I would like a remake of LOST where they actually explain shit.

:guffaw:Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

Writer Mark Bomback ("Live Free or Die Hard") has sold a put pilot to the network along with producers Howard Gordon ("24") and Jonathan Levin ("Charmed").

Titled "Legends" the 20th Century Fox TV project is about a government operative with an uncanny gift for "legends" -- what spooks call false identities -- and is sent on a variety of missions while simultaneously coping with the possibility that his own identity may be a "legend" too.

untitled spy series for Summer 2010 from ABC

Perhaps this is the spy series this thread was originally about.

untitled spy drama eyed for next summer.

While it has received a script order, there is already talk about 3-5 back-up scripts. And feelers have been sent out to writers to join the potential series. The project, from ABC Studios and Scharbo and Matthews' Little Engine, is a female-centered spy show described as Taken meets The Bourne Identity.

ABC already has 2 female-friendly spy dramas in the works for next season: remakes of Charlie's Angels and True Lies.
