ABC cancels Pushing Daisies & Dirty Sexy Money

Boston Legal is a sad loss. It's too bad that it wasn't given a full season and another one or something. :( Maybe Denny Crane and Alan Shore will spin-off into their own new series? ;)

As interested as I would in a spin off series, with the way Boston Legal was treated by ABC throughout the whole 5 season, the makers should not bother

Maybe they'll make a spinoff about Melvin Palmer. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

It sure would be

I'm not giving up on PD until the fat lady sings, and right now I don't think she's cleared her throat yet. Fuller said in an interview I read that they have until around mid-January when the last episodes airs to make a decision whether or not to pick it back up next season or not.

As Fuller told E they have already told him PD is cancelled, I don't see ANC changing there minds when PD last number was a Series Low.

Family Guy was cancelled once upon a time too....while it's the exception rather than the rule...a passionate fan base CAN get a cancellation reversed.

PD was a decent ideal, but got old quick and there is only so much "Dr Seuss-like" banter I could stomach. I watched a couple of the first episodes and caught a few later on here and there, but it didnt feel like I was missing anything. The last episode I caught was the guy whining about his chick friend moving out and I knew it was over. I'm like, "DUde! you cant touch her anymore find some other hot chick that you can touch and get over it!" I stopped watching after that.

But a passionate fan base can rarely create more viewers. And that's the problem. Most of the shows brought back by passionate fans still end up getting canceled fairly quickly once brought back.

See, I wouldn't mind if they managed to pull through with a 3rd Season and wrapped up the dangling plot lines, which they could easily do and give a resolution to make the fans happy. I'm not too keen on the comic book idea, as the Firefly one they did a few years ago to wrap up thread (i.e. The Hands of Blue guys) fell flat rather badly. Ah well...either way...I'm not giving up til Mid-January if we haven't heard anything to the contrary at that point regarding it's fate.

Why does every show I actually get to watch, because its late at night and the kids are asleep, get cancelled?

I was enjoying Dirty Sexy Money, and I still miss Men in Trees.

I'm not too bothered about PD, DSM or ES (sorry people), but they seem to be messing LoM around now as well. Are they mental? LoM is getting decent ratings compared to the other three, what're they trying to do screw another one up?

LoM is a marginal case.

Ratings here.

7.97 M, 2.6/7, that demo number is unhealthy! Heroes has about the same viewership but the demo is 3.6/8, just for comparison purposes. I'm sure ABC expected LoM to attract a young male demo and it doesn't seem to be doing that so well.

ABC has lots of stronger shows and now that it's dumped its weakest ones, LoM is much closer to the bottom of the pecking order.

And the ratings are what's screwing the show up, not what the network has been doing. I don't think it'll get an S2, but since the premise seems awfully self-limiting, maybe that's a good thing. If it were pulling those numbers on more-desperate NBC, I'd be betting on an S2.

The killer factor is that LoM is being moved to the post-Lost deathslot. Sorry, the Lost audience just watches Lost and then everyone jumps on the Internet to vent. Nothing can work in that timeslot and I don't think LoM is very well paired with Lost anyway, just because they are both sci fi or quasi sci fi.

I have some hope with the after Lost time slot. Just maybe a few of them will stay watching for an extra hour to see what's going on. I'm happy that it did move from what it was on after Greys, I just didn't see Greys main demos watching LOM. Granted I'm a woman, but I just find Greys very boring as I prefer something extra. I'm looking forward on how the writers will conclude the mystery that was established on the last 10 minutes of LOM. Hopefully, it will be solved well and it works for them. I rarely watch shows that are on the non-cable channels as most of them just suck, so there must something about LOM that is entertaining. I hope that it stays, if it doesn't, well it just gives me more reasons to be annoyed with ABC, NBC (Office is good but I'm starting to lose interest), CBS (who watches 2 1/2 men and why?? it's NOT funny at all), FOX ( I watch Family Guy on Adult Swim).

Again, I have some faith that a few extras will watch LoM ...I hope.

Life on Mars over the previous 3 weeks had climbed from 8 million to 9 and the demo was at 2.9 (good for a 10pm show). Thingss were looking good till this episode but hopefully the break and time for any reruns plus the Lost lead in will help LoM stay in levels at least around 9 million.
