ABC cancels Pushing Daisies & Dirty Sexy Money

OH GOD DAMN IT. :scream:

I just knew it. I liked it too much.

Such a pity. The show was really moving along nicely, too.

What's that Emerson Cod quote? "That's the kind of idea that makes bad ideas feel better about themselves."

Holy crap, I will miss Emerson. :(

Meh. This is why I only watch rerunned series on cable. At least then I know I'm not likely to get the rug pulled out on me suddenly.

ABC have made it 100% official now...

The network has decided not to order any more episodes of "Pushing Daisies" along with "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money

Bryan Fuller informed E-Weekly of the news earlier.

Life on Mars been given 17 episode order not 22, weird.

I have to use ITL's Emerson threadbomb. It's just so appropriate, as I go off to cry in my pie.

Eli Stone was not a 10 p.m. show. I'm actually surprised it lasted this long, but I'll enjoy whatever episodes are left, if they're going to burn them off.

I'm not too bothered about PD, DSM or ES (sorry people), but they seem to be messing LoM around now as well. Are they mental? LoM is getting decent ratings compared to the other three, what're they trying to do screw another one up? 17 episodes doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, and they're dropping it into a timeslot where ABC have had their asses handed to them for a couple of months now.....

Fcukers.

9:00/8:00c - "Lost" (New Season)

Oh goody, so now not only does Life have to go up against Criminal Minds, now it gets to go up against LOST too. And I presume the American Idol juggernaut is just around the corner too. Oh joy. Oh well, it's "dead man walking" anyway. :(

Life on Mars at wed 10pm is a smart move because Law & Order is a shadow of its former self and should not worry it, plus it will follow LOST. LOST & LoM are shows with weird SCI FI esqe plots so will make a great partnership. and Gh4, Idol won't on thursday nights so Life has something to breathe about.

EDIT -
ABC/Bryan Fuller have CONFIRMED THE CANNING.
Since there are so many PD fans on here I thought this deserved its own thread and am sorry to say while ABC have not official said it, its true because The Futon Critic website got there hands on ABC midseason lineup and both PD & DSM were not on it and they were told both shows have been cancelled and will end after 13 episodes. Scrubs and Life on Mars will replace both shows, sorry PD fans :(

Here is the line-Up...

Wednesdays
8:00/7:00c - "Scrubs" (New Season)
8:30/7:30c - "Scrubs" (New Season)
9:00/8:00c - "Lost" (New Season)
10:00/9:00c - "Life on Mars" (New Time Slot)
It may say Again,
keep in mind the above schedule has yet to be confirmed.
but I've ckecked several sources and this is all but true.

However looks like Eli Stone will stay on with According to Jim returning if there are any fans here. True Beauty replaces Boston Legal :wtf::wtf::wtf:

Wait?? Eli Stone ISN'T getting cancelled?? Do I read that right? Please tell me this is so!!!

and Gh4, Idol won't on thursday nights so Life has something to breathe about.

Ok, I'm confused. Life and Lost are on Weds, at least Life is right now, and I thought you posted that LOST will be back on Weds nights when it returns. But the quote about about Idol is talking about Thursday night.

Boston Legal is a sad loss. It's too bad that it wasn't given a full season and another one or something. :( Maybe Denny Crane and Alan Shore will spin-off into their own new series? ;)

As interested as I would in a spin off series, with the way Boston Legal was treated by ABC throughout the whole 5 season, the makers should not bother

Sorry got my nights mixed up.

And above Eli Stone was cancelled by ABC after I put that up so ABC decided to yank it at the last minute but until this week planned to keep it on.

The time slot swap of Life on Mars and Private Practice was a good move - for both shows, I think.

If Private Practice can't pull decent numbers when it follows Grey's Anatomy, then it is incapable of doing so.

I actually liked Dirty Sexy Money better than Pushing Daisies...but I'm disappointed about both shows. The strike last year really hurt alot of freshman shows...and these were most certainly among them.

I'm not giving up on PD until the fat lady sings, and right now I don't think she's cleared her throat yet. Fuller said in an interview I read that they have until around mid-January when the last episodes airs to make a decision whether or not to pick it back up next season or not. For anyone wanting to do something to help keep it on the air, I point you to http://savedaisies.com Jericho and Family Guy are examples of shows that have been cancelled to come back. IMO, the premise behind Daisies is far and away better than Jericho, and it has the critical acclaim behind it to back that up.

ABC's president was appearently behind keeping the show, but Disney balked. I still haven't lost all hope, nor will I until the final episodes airs. There's still time to get approval for a 3rd season, if not a full order for this one.

As Fuller told E they have already told him PD is cancelled, I don't see ANC changing there minds when PD last number was a Series Low.

Well, I'll stay optimistic.
