yeah that was my point. It's called Peace and I was merely drawing attention to the (poor) speculation going on induced by Aaron's second tweet. If the twittersphere is going to draw parallels with Greek/Roman mythology (and to re-iterate, it's not clear any such parallel is clear) then they can at least get the God of Peace correct.
EDIT - that should be "Goddess" not "God". If Aaron is not just doing an Isaacs and playing with fans' heads, then I think
@Gov Kodos has provided the only historical context to the sculpture. Someone like that with good knowledge of the background of the sculpture etc is probably best placed to speculate....if there is anything truly in there to speculate about and it isn't Aaron playing games with us. I'm guessing twitter people jumped to conclusions regarding Greek mythology since TOS had done it (and the writers haven't exactly been original in many respects) but my 5 years of schoolboy Latin lessons (with some ancient Greek stuff thrown in for good measure) had simply come to my aid in my original posting...a google search then confirmed what I was already 95% sure of - that Aphrodite was not the Goddess of Peace; the sculpture indeed was exhibited with something else in mind. If there is any link with Greek mythology then what's in Eirene's hand may have relevance given the episode title but I think (as I said before) this is stretching things wayyyyy too much.
