A TNG Edited Video Where The ENT-D Actually Kicks @$$ For Once

Most of it is pretty shabby but I do like the combination of the Enterprise firing, cut to the devastation wrought by DS9 in Way of the Warrior. :)

Love it. Wish we actually did see the ship unleash some fury like that -- especially in Generations. ;)

Didn't know I wanted to see the Enterprise "kick ass", I sort-of assumed the series, and Trek as a whole, was about something else than 'splosions and effects.

There were quite a number of occasions when the ship got into serious fights and it devolved down to the same old stock footage shots or the Enterprise sitting there and doing nothing for most of the fight, which really didn't fit the tone of the situations.

The fight in Generations with the Enterprise firing one or two phaser shots at the Bird of Prey rather than firing a hundred photon torpedoes at it being a prime example.

The end battle in Yesterday's Enterprise was like that. They spent more time altering course than firing weapons. No wonder SF was losing in that reality.

The video's pretty entertaining, even if the editing is a little off, but did they have to use the "phaser from the photon tube" shot?

GeneralGrin is a genius, and once you overlook the voiceovers (overdubbing) and out of synched talk, the recuts just shine. I've watched nearly all of them and I will never see the TNG crew the same way again, that is how good GeneralGrin is. Not only that GeneralGrin does story arcs as well and the TNG characters all have their distinctive traits (modified by GeneralGrin). Here is another amazing recut:

Yeah, that's only only sensible way to enjoy the series. We clearly weren't meant to enjoy the special effects shots, that's why they hardly ever used them. :shifty:
