A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones Spoiler-Filled Discussion

Ok, I'm kinda confused by something. I haven't gotten to ACK yet, but I just read that Margaery Tyrell is marries Joffrey. So does that mean in the show they're going to have a character played by a 30 year old actress married to a character who's played by an actor who appears to be in his mid-to-early teens? Or are they changing that for the show?

Margaery was older than Joffrey in the books as well, although the age difference was more like 3 or so years. They haven't changed Joffrey's age here, he's still about 13 years old even though Jack Gleeson is nearly 20.

So yeah, they're just going to age up Margaery a bit so she's about 19 or so; that way we won't have to swallow Natalie Dormer as a teenager. And they'll just highlight the age difference.

No, Joffrey is 3 years older than the books as well. He is at least 15 (or 16).

All characters are ~3 years older than in the books.

I do agree about the Margery casting concern. The actress seems too old, but we'll see how it is handled.

Some folks were surprised to learn that Jack Gleeson was 19 years old when filming GoT season 1. But I guess with Dormer it's more obvious in appearance.

Is Joffrey older in the show? I figured he was about the same age as Sansa who's been aged up to 13/14 (and Sophie Turner really is only 15, she's just really tall).

Actually, doesn't that tie in a bit better with what happens in the later books anyway? Her being a significant amount of years older and more mature kind of adds credence to some of the... consternation... in AFFC, etc.

Looks like a certain scene with Davos and Melisandre is being left intact. Not sure whether to be happy or disturbed by that.

This is a poster released from HBO as part of its fan appreciation events going on in the Social Media world.

I like the use of the quote with the house sigil on a Wolf Fur.

*sigh* I wish they'd stop teasing about the Red Wedding.
We know it won't happen this season. It can't.

Or can it?

I both loved and hated the Red Wedding. I loved it because it was so unexpected and such an amazing scene, but I hated it because the North was the only side I was really rooting for in the war. :(

^^I hear that... It definitely made me stop trying to predict what was going to happen next lol!!

^^It'd be a hell of a way to end the season...

I think that would be a mistake and extremely depressing. Have it episode 9...or heck move it around and slide it into Season 4. Looks like they are giving Robb a ton of airtime going forward.
