A Singular Destiny

A Singular Destiny is Keith's own story, not an epilogue to mine. It carries the overall political situation of the 24th-century Federation forward after the events of the trilogy.

As to your second query, you should, in theory, be able to just pick up any Star Trek book and read without needing to read any other. But if you aren't at least familiar with what happens in Destiny, books set after it in the continuity might feel a tad … unfamiliar.

is A Singular Destiny more of an epologue to the Destiny storyline or like the final chapter of it?

More like the prologue of something else. :)

Will reading any of the TNG or Titan books set AFTER those events require reading Destiny to make sense?

Each novel set after Destiny will tell you what's necessary to understand it, but you'll get a better appreciation for the context of those stories by reading Destiny first.

Never mind -- missed the second page, and Marco and Dave's answers sum it up.

So, uh, what they said.

It's KRAD, and there is no way he will deliberately write a novel that is inaccessible to people who pick it up in a random purchase, or because it has KRAD's name on it.

It will be both cleverly linked to lots of other ST stories and it will be a standalone. As most ST novels are.

(Deja vu. These Page 2 threads can be annoying.)

Others have made the point that each book generally has the info you need to be able to understand what's going on. Which leaves the other point: no one who's interested in reading either TNG or Titan would want to skip Destiny and move on to what comes after.

^ Oh fetch...Destiny's not even out yet and we're already starting to ask questions like this????? I guess cyclical questions asked after every 'epic' novel of sorts are needed to keep the world from falling apart at the seams or something.

As for Enterprises Of Great Pitch and Moment, I said it once and I'll say it again: I love it! I saw that synopsis for A Singular Destiny at my local Chapters store here in Calgary, and seriously started to laugh at the computer screen. I told the Chapters staff they might want to remove that information if they could 'cause it was inaccurate. So far, it's still there.

EDIT: Wow, I must be on crack 'cause I failed to notice the second page of discussion... maybe I should just go back to doing other stuff now....yeah...that sounds good.....
