A Sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order has been Announced, Along With Two Other New Games

I use a controller on PC for games like this.

Yep. I have an Xbox One anyway so I've got a gamepad - the thing is upgrading my Xbox for a game means buying a new one, whereas you can always chuck more RAM or a better graphics card into a PC. The issue is the poor ports you get because the devs have to figure out how to get the game running smoothly on a whole spectrum of hardware instead of a fixed console.

For my part, I found a site that gave good suggestions as to what graphics settings you could turn down without really impacting the overall visual quality. The latest patch has also helped. The only area where I get any noticeable framerate lag now is the sections of Koboh with the deadly blue dust in the air.

I'll also say most of my earlier rants about jump puzzles can be ignored - on a replay they are nowhere near as bad or frustrating. I think only the bit on the Shattered Moon where you have to use the "bounce off one wall to another" climbing trick but there are steam vents that will knock you off (and you can't grab back on no matter how high you were) still got my blood close to boiling second time around.

I've finished now too. I really enjoyed the story, but had to suffer through multiple issues. Two crashes (including one that sent me back to before a big boss fight that I'd already beaten) one game-breaking bug that I had to restart for, and my on-going annoyance at the release "trickery". Despite those annoyances, I enjoyed it.

I surprised myself by really wanting those two to finally get together, and Rick the door technician was a really nice touch. I wonder if "Matt the radar technician" ever heard of the legend that was Rick. ;)

Finally finished this after taking way longer than I thought I would. The story was longer than I expected, and I spent a lot of time exploring Koboh. Plus I don't have as much free time for gaming as I used to, alas.

I really enjoyed it. I think it's a step up from Fallen Order in just about every way. I'm really glad I played it on PS5, though; there were some framerate issues here and there, but nothing worse than that in terms of performance.

Regarding the story, I was slightly surprised that...

They ended with Team Kestis still on Tanalorr with the ability to travel to it at will. I really expected it to end with the Empire finally invading Koboh and forcing the good guys to use the arrays to close the Abyss (and then destroying them) to keep Tanalorr safe from the Empire, at the cost of sealing it away forever.

So I'm interested to see where they go with that in the next game, and in other future media.

I'll probably let it sit for a few months before I jump into a New Game+.

What was everyone's favorite lightsaber stances? And did you stick to a lightsaber color or change it around? For stances, I went with Blaster for the most part (I couldn't get enough of the ability to slow down time and mow down a bunch of enemies at once with the blaster) while switching to Crossguard when I needed more defense or when I was fighting against beefier opponents.

For colors, I started off with indigo because that's what I used to finish out Fallen Order, but when I saw that white was available I had this "headcanon" idea that Cal had healed the crystal Trilla used in her lightsaber in FO and started using it in his, so I went with that.

I also thought it was neat how all of the different colors also sounded different.

Well, if you keep exploring after the credits and return to Koboh:

There's a Star Destroyer overhead, hinting that the Empire is planning a crackdown - many of the folk at Rambler's Reach are planning to leave - on subsequent returns, Pyloon's is as empty as it was at the start of the game

As far as lightsabers go, I'm really happy with mine, I'd almost like to see if I can get it made IRL next time I get some ostentatious-collectable money.

I ended up going with indigo as well (it's like blue, but more!), which is what I started with in my last playthrough in FO, though I switched to green when Cal rebuilt the lightsaber because I love the noise even if I don't care for the color, and I was thrilled FO included it (even the movies have been sloppy about it; the ESB special edition, for instance, had Anakin's blue saber make the green-saber activation noise once or twice). But Survivor didn't (every color had a different hum, but lost the distinct activation sound), so back to indigo for me.

For stances, I bounced around. I used blaster least of all, followed by dual-wielding. I normally stuck with the basic single and staff stances, though I used crossguard occasionally for boss-fights when I was getting frustrated with having to grind through the different stages so I just wanted to get through the parts where I'd already memorized their move set as quick as possible.

I also enjoyed both games a lot more when I figured out how to address some technical issues. I had a problem in FO where it wouldn't respond to mouse clicks sometimes (which was only a major problem during boss-battles), but I looked it up and it turned out I was using the wrong mode (Windows games for some reasons have "fullscreen" and "windowed fullscreen"), so my mouse was invisibly going off the edge of the screen. The crasher I was getting with Survivor was because my virtual memory settings were set to a hard limit for some reason, and it was way too low (it's recommended to be ~1.5x your physical memory, apparently, mine was set to 1/10th of my physical memory).

I know in the first game most of the saber parts came from Galaxy's Edge. I didn't know if it's the same for Survivor.

Yep! I did see that. Makes me wonder if there won't be as much of a jump forward in time as there was from FO to Survivor.
