A Roseanne revival? Really??

Decent episode and I felt myself cringing at the "Roseanne is ignorant about Muslims" shtick before it became clear what the episode was going to do with it. I like the overall idea, but I think it was only adequately executed, and in this day and age, that kind of topic needs to be handled with more sensitivity.

That said, I did love how Samir repaid Roseanne the $30 she lent to Fatima at two in the morning. Payback is a bitch.

I like that everybody communicated well with each other honestly, tho I doubt it would ever happen like that IRL. I like that the bigot was just some undefined cash-register girl, not a stereotyped redneck with an NRA t-shirt. bigots can be anyone, anywhere.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. In the first episode back Harris used the land line. Plus they are poor and poor people don't have data on their phone unless they need it for their job. Like I said I knoe 5 people under 35 with smart phones and no data plans.

Speaking of her, I just rewatched the episode where Darlene announced she is pregnant and realised it was in season 8 and not 9 meaning the ages don’t match. Does she have a miscarriage and have her at a later date?

^ I find the age thing weird too. Harris was born at the end of the series which aired in 1997 and the new season is set in 2018. Harris should be 21 years old by now so it’s strange they made her 15/16 years old.

I just finished rewatching season 8 after many years and completely forgot that the season ended not with the heart attack but a big fight afterwards. With season 9 being retconned it means we don’t know how they reconciled from that. I’m sure it’s similar to the season 9 premier.

They are doing a Will and Grace, they are retconning anything fans didn't like and making it work. Season 8 is just unwatchable to me as season 9 so I will ignore it too.

They wanted Harris to be the same age as Darlene in the reboot, it works great so Im not complaining.

I agree that seasons 8 and 9 weren’t that great. There were far too many episodes where nothing interesting happened and half the cast didn’t appear in most of the episodes due to them being at uni etc.

They needed high school and middle school children, that grounds the show. If Harris was 21-22 she could have her own kid or wouldn't be around.

Roseanne was amazing seasons 1-4, 5-6 were pretty good too. Season 7 is when the show becomes a joke. The season 7 finale is a fantasy of Roseanne's where she is on Gilligan's Island. The show is watchable but just barely. I ditched for good during season 8, it's just horrible and season 9... Let's just say that season 10 premiere having higher ratings than the last 10 episodes of Roseanne isn't shocking at all.

I understand that Johnny Galecki is busy with Big Bang but I'm really sad about David and Darlene. I'm also sad about how Darlene's life turned out. She was smart and in college and had a great future ahead of her. It would have been nice to see her successful
