A question for you job interviewers

That sucks. I work in the software industry, where salaries are almost always negotiable within a defined range--and they can usually flex a bit on benefits, too. That may be because of the unique nature of the software business, though. Employers are often looking for very specific skillsets and recognize they will have to pay out if they want to attract the right talent.

Well, to be fair, I've also never interviewed with a job that wasn't an entry level position. I went from working in a grocery store to working in a restaurant to working at a gym, and now I work at a school. Other than "customer service" and "multi-tasking," I've never really had any particular skills that a company was looking for.
