^ Sort of. DI's main purpose in life was to be a Worf solo novel, showing his first mission as an ambassador, and also to do a version of the "civilian who comes on board to make the crew's life miserable" plot that is a Trek staple, but twisting it so that a) it's a Klingon ship and b) the civilian is actually our hero. 
Turning it into a series was more of a hope than a possibility when I pitched the book, and was thrilled when John Ordover let me use the Gorkon gang in The Brave and the Bold and then told me to pitch him a Gorkon duology.
