A question about your use of towels

I usually throw a towel into the laundry whenever I have a load of the right color with some extra space. Works out to every few weeks.

I change towels two to three times a week. But I also tend to shower numerous times a day. Especially when it's 100+ out.

However I do think that all this new towel a day stuff is wasteful as other posters have pointed out. Water, power, detergent, all of it is used more for more laundry.

Actually I only do one load of towels a week with my one towel a day habit. That is basically one full load. I am not using all that much water with my low water using washer and I use an eco-friendly detergent. I also don't use paper towels in the kitchen so I throw in the used kitchen towels. The hand towels and wash cloths go in too. Basically, I am not making that much of a dent environmentally or financially with using a towel a day.

I also only use the dishwasher twice a week, a low water toilet, low volume nozzle on the shower and I fill the sink when shaving. I only purchase cleaners that are eco-friendly and I never buy products that use excessive packaging. This is a way of life for me so I try to be very environmentally thoughtful, even when washing my clothes.

I don't do the laundry, my wife does so I get a new towel whenever she gives me one ;)

LOL new towel every day..

I mean how really fuckin dirty are you when you get out of the shower that you'd need a new towel everyday?

Do you have a problem with people using a new fuckin towel every fuckin day if they fuckin feel like it? :p

One a week. More would mean a lot of wasteful, unnecessary laundry.
Same here. One for hands and face in the bathroom, and once for entire body after shower. More often then once a week would be just unnecessary laundry. And remember this comes from a guy that takes good care of his hygiene and showers every morning.

I use 5 different towels for face, hands, body, feet and nether regions. They get chanced about once a week, maybe a little more often. I live alone, so no fear of unlawful exchange of microbia.

If you are doing it like Holdfast, you know you are doing it right.

I live alone, so there are just 5 towels around in total.

When I lived with my parents, we shared the hands towel (it was the only one near the sink): each one of us had a towel rail with 4 towels. Consider that nether-regions and feet towels are small, face is medium sized and body is the only one large enough to wrap yourself in it. I know it sounds like a lot of stuff, but if you keep them orderly and neat, they don't take much space in a normal sized bathroom. Also, we don't use bathrobes.
