A Question about New Earth/Ex Machina era...

^^Thanks! I'd love to continue in the post-TMP era, but the sales of ExM weren't strong enough to warrant sequels. However, my installment in Mere Anarchy (available in trade paperback next month!) does take place in the period between TMP & TWOK and is in continuity with ExM, though it was written to stand on its own rather than being a continuation of anything specific to ExM.

Awesome! I'll be picking up Mere Anarchy for sure:techman:. What do sales have to be like to warrant "sequels" to a story? I figured since it was a TOS story, that sales would have been up to par with other new TOS books. Did it sell particularily poorly? Either way man, I enjoyed it.

That's too bad about Ex Machina. It's my favorite Trek novel and I would have bought a sequel. I have Mere Anarchy pre-ordered, primarily to get your installment.

Breaks my heart too - I've always thought the immediate aftermath of TMP was hugely fertile ground for storylines, and Ex Machina was such a fantastic book that I've always wanted more from Christopher on this subject. And as much as I'm looking forward to reading the other authors' contributions to Mere Anarchy, I'm right there with J. Lester in primarily getting the book to read Christopher's entry.
