A New Resident Evil Trilogy... and new characters...

Ok even I think this is a little much:

COMINGSOON:
ShockTillYouDrop.com talked exclusively to Paul W.S. Anderson, who revealed that Resident Evil: Afterlife will be released in 3D and will kick-off a new trilogy![MORE]

But he does confirm more game characters will make their way to the film. Which characters do you want to see?

I don't want to see any game characters. Let's keep these godawful films from further ruining my favorite characters.

I've never played the games and found the movies to be passable fare.
Of course I saw them all on Netflix and doubt I'd pay top dollar to see one at the cineplex.

I'm really trying to figure out who's left they could use. There were rumors they were going to start the Ganados storyline in the next film (it was rumored that was why Alaska was so protected from the T-Virus). Here's a list of the characters:

Characters seen in the films:
William Birkin (RE)
Nicholai Ginovaef (RE: A)
Leon S. Kennedy (RE: A Anderson says that he has no plans to include him in live action as the character is dead in the films)
Carlos Olivera (RE: A, RE: E; Oded Fehr did joke that he could come back as a zombie)
Claire Redfield (RE: E)
Jill Valentine (RE: A)
Albert Wesker (RE: E)

Characters not seen in the films:
Sheva Alomar
Alyssa Ashcroft
Alexia Ashford
Alfred Ashford
Veronica Ashford
Ben Bertolucci
Sherry Birkin (The novelization of Resident Evil: Extinction suggests she is K-Mart)
Marvin Branagh
Steve Burnside
Barry Burton
Rebecca Chambers
Jim Chapman
Billy Coen
Ashley Graham
George Hamilton
HUNK
Ingrid Hunnigan
Robert Kendo
David King
Jack Krauser
Cindy Lennox
James Marcus
Bitores Mendez
Chris Redfield
Kevin Ryman
Osmund Saddler
Ramon Salazar
Luis Sera
Ozwell E. Spencer
Yoko Suzuki
Lisa Trevor
Brad Vickers
Mikhail Victor
Sergei Vladimir
Mark Wilkins
Ada Wong

I know everybody hates the movies, but personally I like them, so I don't mind a new trilogy. But, off topic, why does EVERYTHING nowadays have to be in 3-D?

I love the movies, all three of them and just spent the last few days rewatching them a few times each.

Love Milla's Alice, hell, I love Milla in general, Oded is awesome, would love to have Carlos back, and would really dig Jill Valentine making a return.

...

I'm actually sickened by this thread. I hated the movies, they were a complete waste of time. The only good thing is Jill looked hot. And in three films, only one character that looked hot was a good thing, that's a very very bad thing for a film.

Carlos is dead. He won't be returning. And Milla? Shit, I don't think there's an actor on this planet that can display any less emotion than she can. She's awful. uggggggggh

Yes but she's bonking the director, so talent is irrelevant.

So now we get to look forward to three more garbage films crapping all over the games, joy. And the fact that that hack Anderson is still attached means that they have no chance of even being halfway decent. I'm beginning to think even Uwe Boll would be a preferable director, at least he acknowledges that he's an ignorant fool.

To be honest (and I can't believe these words are coming out of my mouth), I think I'd rather Uwe Bowl working on a Resident Evil movie. Granted it would be a puddle of piss, but hell, a puddle of piss is better than a pile of bullshit I suppose.

Update courtesy of The Horror Is Alive: Anderson's main inspiration for his next travesty is Resident Evil 5. So good news everyone, he wont be fucking up T-Virus Zombies anymore, now he's moved onto fucking up Las Plagas instead. :scream:

Milla's great as Alice. It's just a pity she hasn't had stronger scripts. And the films have been very successful with her in the lead, so she would have been kept as the lead actress regardless of her involvement with Anderson.

I'm not a videogame guy, but I thought the first and third movies were actually kinda cool.

At least as far as late night rentals go. lol

This has pretty much been confirmed since Extinction came out.

I stopped following anything Anderson said after Extinction came out, so my blissful ignorance has only been shattered recently. Regardless::scream:

I'd rather stab myself in the eye than watch another one of these films. Im going to take a pass on this turd

I don't really blame you for that.

When was Leon in the films?
If you look carefully you can see newspaper clippings in the background saying he was killed
It was a literal blink and you'll miss it mention, but back when they were trying to get him in Extinction (yes there were fans that tried since Claire was in it), PWSA said that since they decided that Leon would be dead in Apocalypse he'd be dead in Extinction and they wouldn't change it.
