A Look at Uhura

It's his information that I relied upon for years, especially in regards to "The Way of the Spores" transition into "This Side of Paradise." IIRC, he also may be the author of an article I have somewhere on "The Empath" wherein frames of film clips show Gem literally breathing life back into McCoy, which would certainly have been far more controversial than what we see.

KeepOnTrekking,
Thanks for the beautiful post on my hero of the series: Lt. Uhura. I loved it!

You know, that was so well written I have to ask: do I see the glimmer of an Uhura novel in you????:techman:

Thanks, Anji! :) I don't know about a novel but I have been kicking around some ideas about Spock and how the other characters (besides Kirk and McCoy) could contribute something to his growth.

Chapel was hope and saw the danger of his two warring sides. This was resolved finally in STTMP.

Some time after that Spock comes across Saavik and becomes a mentor to her. Saavik represents faith. A daughter usually has faith in her father or a student for their teacher. As Spock used his unique insight to help Saavik along in coping with her Vulcan/Romulan duality, Spock continues to gain insight on maybe helping reunite Vulcan and Romulus.

Eventually Spock becomes an ambassador and starts the reunification process in TNG. In some novels Uhura ends up an admiral in Intelligence. For me, Uhura represents love. They say love is the strongest of the three and I hope she found some way to help Spock achieve his reunification efforts before the events of ST XI. Now that might be an interesting novel!
