In writing my own fan-fiction in the Trek unverse, I've embarked on a several part story arc and would like to ask a couple of "history" questions.

Has it been established anywhere in the lit world when fusion power first appeared?

Similarly, was it ever established when the Ares mission left earth?

To be honest, I could posit my own dates for these (especially being able to calculate roughly the Ares dates from canon notes) but I wanted to remain as consistent as possible within the lit arena.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Checking Memory Beta will give you licensed, but non canon, dates if anything covered it.

Thanks Therin. I'd already checked both sites but there was no mention of dates (apart from the landing on Mars as opposed to the mission departure).
