A Lit-verse based TOS chronology

Bringing this thread back from the dead again to say that for about the last six months, I've been slowly reworking the timeline I built in this thread from square one. I took a fresh look at some presuppositions, took into account a whole lot of new info, and come up with a "Version 2.0" that I'm really proud of. This time I've added all my notes on every bit of chronological data I could find, reasons for all the exact placements, and any other notes.

In particular I'm proud that I ended up with a distinct period of six solid months of Chekov being off the Enterprise post-TOS, something that I think is usually a difficulty when building a Treklit based timeline.

A lot of our chronological discussions happen somewhere besides this forum nowadays, but I wanted to pop in here with this in case anyone else around here was interested.

I used to have the audiobook of Enterprise: The First Adventure somewhere... I didn't remember that it gave the stardate as 0000.5. I love it!

Also, I think I was assuming that "Where No Man" and the beginning of the 5YM fell in early 2265 when we placed A Choice of Catastrophes on McCoy's third anniversary. Didn't look deeply enough, I guess!

That's a very impressive site, Ryan! I was wondering if there was something that put absolutely everything in one place, and I see in your introduction page that you are currently working on that. I hope that gives you more fun than headaches to put together!

Love the site, @ryan123450, I've been using the site for a while to make sense of the post-Nemesis stuff. In fact, I've just started reading through the stories listed in the five-year mission section of the site. I've just finished reading through Distant Early Warning and the 2265 portion of Foundations, Book One when I noticed a discrepancy in the timeline.

On the timeline, you have Distant Early Warning placed in June 2265, while Foundations, Book One is placed in July 2265 as per The Captain's Oath. However, in DEW Commodore Reyes references the USS Lovell's mission to Neutral Zone outpost 5 (as seen in Foundations) while talking to Captain Okagawa.

I hope this information helps, you've certainly crafted an excellent resource to guide me on my next reading expedition.

Hey, @ryan123450 , I was just looking through the 5YM month-by-month page and noticed where you had The Modala Imperative. Is the stardate the only reason you have that between "Errand of Mercy" and "City on the Edge of Forever" rather than after "Operation Annihilate"? Or are there references in Modala itself which make that a more likely placement? I always figured Chekov transferred up to bridge duty in the interim between season one and season two, so that's where I had placed Modala and The Disinherited.

I’m definitely not great on the details of these early Chekov stories. From what I can remember I seem to have simply placed it in the month previous to The Disinherited, which I lifted the placement of from the Timeliners’ group decision just after Catspaw.

I’m cool with Chekov having some bridge duty even in the last part of season one, as Sulu and Uhura aren’t seen in every episode either, so it’s possible we just missed him now and again.
